I have one of those Coke machines on top in my man cave. The root beer stains like crazy. If you run coke through the root beer spout, it will taste like coke with root beer flavor regardless how much you clean or purge the system.

Confirm this for me. It’s not one hole per drink on the first, isn’t it? It’s two per, since one is for the creamy thick syrup, the other is for fizzy water.

That’s why you basically end up with soda water if the syrup is out.

      That’s correct, no?

100% I was going to mention this but didn’t wanna seem to nerdy.

If you are interested in learning about them search up lancer lev and you’ll see pics and manuals.

i love some of the newer dispensers but you can’t fuckin beat classic valves. On or fuckin off brother no in-between. i don’t need no gentrified machine, give me bare stainless and black plastic with a decal and I’m happy.

i just rebuilt and installed a fountain and icewell combo original built in 96. shits built to last and is always repairable, freestyle machines break so easy, it’s all tiny parts and plastic.

I love it. I think it would be pretty awesome to have a drink fountain for home.

Not sure I could get the wife approval on that…

That seems like the same thing as soda stream, which is far more popular where I am.

I don’t want soda stream, I also don’t want this drink mate thing. Far too manual to make soda when I want it.

With an actual soda fountain: I set it up, and beyond refilling the supplies every few months or so, I wouldn’t need to think about it or do anything… Just fill up my cup and go.

Depending on where you live you could go the route of premixed product. You just need fridge big enough for a tank and a set of taps mounted on top. You serve it like beer, bonus is you can easily switch to beer.

A big thing with COVID was contact tracing. As in, knowing who and what you made contact with that could have been contaminated with your sick.

Surfaces were nontrivial in that whole context.

If you didn’t learn contact tracing during COVID, were you even in lockdown?

You’re confusing different things. “Contact tracing” has nothing to do with touching things. It just means you had some kind of contact with someone who had covid. Not even physical touch, just being relatively close.

Covid does not spread well through surfaces. This created huge waste as people were trying to deep clean with isopropyl alcohol, resulting in isopropyl alcohol shortages and companies putting in more dangerous forms of alcohol in hand sanitizer. It was completely unnecessary.

In medical environments being aware of what you make contact with, aka, contact tracing, is absolutely about tracking what the hell you touched.

You leaned on that wall over there for 2.6 seconds after touching this thing contaminated with x, y, and z? Great, now we have to sanitize that, and everything that made contact with it.

                Sit down.

Which isn’t what the covid contract tracing apps did. They just looked for proximity. Which makes sense, because covid is primarily transmitted by breathing around people.
