It is. Independent artists already gain basically nothing from IP law, because they can’t afford to defend their claims in court. The fact that their art (usually, before AI) isn’t stolen is a testament to the fact that there’s just not much money in doing so, while the fact that their art got stolen once AI hit the scene shows that the law doesn’t actually stop the rich from doing this stuff. Press the socialism button anyway, but in any case it’s mostly corporations who benefit from IP law.
Okay let me slightly correct myself: Russia won’t invade EU territory unless they’re 100% sure the EU won’t do anything about it. This makes things like measuring response time and the like in the broader EU pointless, because if they have to deal with that they’ve already lost. I’m not denying the existence of the propaganda war, but victory there would make most of Carl’s proposed goals superfluous.
You’re ignoring the impacts of European oligarchs here. Ultimately in a modern democracy most funding for a political movement will have to be homegrown or it’s never going to be enough to hit critical mass. If European oligarchs didn’t want fascism it’d have never gotten as far as it has.
I mean, they’re not 100% controlled opposition lile you see in dictatorships, but they’re maybe 80% of the way there with how they pretend to want things their voters want but then oppose them at every turn.
