Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Is it impolite to crosspost someone else's post to another community on Lemmy without saying anything?English
5·3 months agoI never mind when people crosspost things that I post. It’s just a way of dispersing content to relevant communities.
Also, the cross-posting feature usually automatically provides a link to the original, so I don’t know if there’s a need for an etiquette around it.

2·3 months agoPlaylists are easy enough so far. It just depends on what app you use to access it, I think. I don’t know if there’s a limit. I’ve never looked into lyrics, but I would assume it doesn’t offer that unless it’s pulled with the metadata or something.

2·3 months agoI use Jellyfin for simplicity, which probably isn’t the most preferred service for music, but it doesn’t really matter if you’re accessing it from your choice of mobile app anyway. You can set it up to stream your music library to your phone anywhere if you want also. (Android Auto even has an app)
I’m not confident enough to open up my media server to the outside world yet because I’m still a noob at this stuff, so I just have my full library when I’m at home and anything I’ve downloaded to my phone while I’m out.
You can even set up family sharing - you just give them a login, and they have access to all the same music.

14·3 months agoThere’s always the in between “ipod-era” setup, which is what I’m trying to transition back to: ripping and collecting media locally, then listening to it on my phone without streaming.

20·3 months agoThis reminds me of the fake animals that people buy in “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” for appearances.
I think Lemmy has contracted the beans virus a few times.
Oh, I hadn’t seen it before. I can remove if it’s a recent repost.

He’s one of the stranger comics for sure, but I generally enjoy these.

4·3 months agoIt assumes your eating habits have never changed or will ever change, which makes it weird to calculate for me because I switched to a vegetarian diet 20 years ago.
In any case, it says I have 60-something more to go because I eat eggs.

23·3 months agoYes, but if you have other red appliances, the shade of red won’t match.
It’s an English stereotype that they feel awkward when expressing emotions and would rather suffer silently than “impose” on someone by asking for help.
(edit: or at least that was my read. The other person who replied might be right that it could be a joke about recent events, because they arrest 30+ people per day for social media posts.)
You’re going to make her start over!

It’s “Mr. Joshua”, aka Pants (or Pantspants). I have no idea why he never signs or watermarks his comics.
