But I digress. I’m not a Tesla lover or anything just saying they’re not luxury cars. I don’t even have an EV yet and don’t want a Tesla.
dragoness@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•Tesla's value plunged nearly $200 billion since mid-July – and the EV maker faces a bumpy road aheadEnglish3·2 years agoExactly people say this but then not about Mazda. Every single Mazda has the same design scheme. There’s nothing wrong with that, if it works for the company fine, but like, “oh they all look the same” is invalid as a complaint against them.
Tesla has many other things you can diss on them for.
dragoness@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•Tesla's value plunged nearly $200 billion since mid-July – and the EV maker faces a bumpy road aheadEnglish32·2 years agoSo Tesla’s have quality issues I agree with, Elon is an asshole I also agree with. But not all Tesla’s are a Plaid. They start at $35k, the Y at 40k. They are most assuredly not luxury vehicles and I’m not sure why people keep thinking this.

dragoness@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•It’s time for Americans to embrace small carsEnglish3·2 years agoSo wait. I am transporting one person, not taking up much space, obeying the rules of the road, don’t have loud pipes nor speed, and you’re telling me I’m selfish? When you literally just said you don’t care about our pleasure?
I don’t think it’s us thats the selfish one here.
dragoness@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•It’s time for Americans to embrace small carsEnglish2·2 years agoI love that this has become the hatchback and Yaris love thread. As a GTI owner it makes me happy. I do not want nor need to go any bigger. It’s almost the perfect car.
Backwoods Virginian and that’s what we called it.

dragoness@lemmy.zipto Technology@lemmy.world•New Footage Shows Tesla On Autopilot Crashing Into Police Car After Alerting Driver 150 TimesEnglish54·2 years agoNo, autopilot does not allow for a driver to completely disengage their attention. That’s what they want to get to but that’s not where we are. You still have to drive the car, you still have to be in control.
This is the driver’s fault.
I hope Tesla wins this one. We need to set a precedent for this, you can’t be out here driving high, drunk or any type of impairment and just assume you can get around that by your cars technology.
Granted I agree that the car should slow down, put hazards on and pull you off if you don’t respond by a certain timeframe. There are a few brands that do that and it should be standard.
You represent your username nicely here and I agree with your sentiment.

Yes I know how to drive a manual, I learned many years ago. I’m from the US and I’m 42.
Learned on an old beat up truck when I was like 20, I remember I got stuck stalling out on the highway once, I don’t even remember how. I freaked out so bad. 8 years ago I had 2012 Mazdaspeed 3. I miss that car so so much.
