It’s not a hallucination if the source knows it’s untrue, lol

You’re insinuating that they deployed earlier than planned because someone who barely qualifies as a competitor made a program that boots 2 seconds sooner and is then a shittier program than Steam?
I seriously doubt they were at all worried about Epic’s activities

Nice dude.
I’m taking all my friends with me too, got most of them set up with Linux PCs too at this point.
Each one teach one

There’s no way they started working on that patch when Epic announced their slop launcher, they don’t deploy things that quickly.
AI didn’t do shit

I believe he meant pirating games for other consoles based on the context
But yeah, I get dope shot on Steam and GoG for $5 or less on the regular (and with GoG I get to keep the install files and do whatever I want with them)

I never plan to buy another console, and I’ve been collecting them for over 30 years.
Once Sony stops making discs I will no longer be buying any games for PS5, and I will complete my platform transition to PC (already have most of my shit there at this point).
I don’t rent shit, and I minimize subscriptions. I will continue to own my own shit, bought or otherwise.
I suppose Nintendo could potentially have a desirable future console, but I would never buy something that they can brick remotely at will (such as the Switch 2).
… I guess if Sega decided to try and make a new console I’d have to buy it as a Sega loyalist, but I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

I never asserted that a human mind could do computation

I know you’re not a fan of the dictionary, but they are the authority on words and their meanings.
Before you get too excited about definition 3 I suggest you familiarize yourself with what it means to “compute” https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/compute you’ll notice repeated use of the word “determine”. LLMs are by nature “non-deterministic” or in other words “incapable of determining / incapable of making a determination”.
A computer is deterministic
An LLM is a probabilistic next-word-guessing machine / software as a service

Words have meanings, and you don’t get to change them in order to strengthen a weak argument.
I’m sorry that those meanings aren’t convenient for your untenable position.

Ahh, buckle up for the rest of the comment thread lmao
The real danger is the pollution, energy costs, and the fact that everyone who uses the technology rapidly atrophies their cognitive abilities. It’s also dangerous that this automated hacking software is being unleashed without proper monitoring by the extremely negligent and cognitively atrophied humans who built it.

I didn’t quote it, I sent you the entry in the hopes that you might read it yourself and learn something

The ability to accomplish tasks is not in and of itself an indicator of intelligence, and “intelligence” in the context of AI is a misnomer.

I don’t accept the computer as intelligent or a being, and I love my computer (it’s objectively an inanimate object tho).

They have not comprehended anything to date, as they don’t actually understand anything, or have an intellect with which to do so. They are probabilistic next word guessing machines, that is what is happening behind the smoke and mirrors, not “thought”.

It’s what you don’t posses about the workings of LLMs (or basic English).

An important variable of the Turing Test that is never spoken about is the intelligence (or gullibility) of the user.
My Sega Genesis still works like a charm, and humans still make new games for it occasionally
