Key word being probably. You never know.
And true love for that matter.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How can we stop bots on the fediverse?English
1·2 days agoThe vast majority of users are not the architects of the internet or the fediverse for that matter. It’s like telling people to just stop using money. Sure, people could do it if they want to escape capitalism on an individual basis, but one person or group of people not using money does not eliminate capitalism or fix the issues that others will continue to deal with.

21·2 days agoTrue, but I had hoped that the fediverse was a life raft from the dying internet at large. Seems that hope was unfounded, and the virus has spread here as well, with no sign of it being repelled.

21·2 days agoYou’re the only person in this thread that has been a condescending dickbag, so I’m seriously not sure what you’re on about at this point.

6·2 days agoThat sounds simple enough, but the fediverse is not popular yet with normies, and we’re already seeing it happen. Also, how does one keep normies away from something exactly?

51·2 days agoYea, that’s my big concern. Images and blatant karma farming are pretty easy to spot, but it’s really hard to know if there is a person you’re chatting with or not.

33·2 days agoThat puts a lot of responsibility on users to solve the problem for themselves, which as you say, they never will. Seems like the fediverse is going to be destroyed by AI in the near future just like the rest of the internet has been.
A.) This is not funny. B.) This is ai garbage. Edit: C.) This account is 54 minutes old and posted this image 4 minutes after it was created. Likely a bot.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People who don't have much friends: Do you think you would've have a better social life if the internet didn't exist?English
151·5 days agoThe internet is the sole source of my social life. I would have no friends at all if it didn’t exist.
I respect that they are being responsible with their new found power.

1·8 days agoI just installed a minimalist phone launcher. It creates a much more focused and less distracted phone experience. Also, not exactly new, but new to me, I switched from windows 10 to Ubuntu Studio. The experience is night and day, and I wish I had done it sooner.

6·10 days agoDoes this person not understand how media specific sites work? If you want a mixed media website, there are plenty out there on the fediverse. Saying every site should host every media type gives users less options, not more.

12·10 days agoThat’s interesting, good to know!

I got lucky on tinder and found a fellow introvert with near identical interests. I would not rely on that though, hobbies and friends are the best way to meet people, especially if you can make friends with extroverts that can be wingmen or do hobbies that involve a lot of one on one time like table top gaming or dancing. It takes at least a few years of active looking if you are well groomed and know what you’re looking for.
