Low empathy people are often like this and very few are self reflective enough to recognize the hypocrisy. And especially sociopaths are just self absorbed and self serving and think everyone else is the same way. But it can also be a hallmark of untreated and undiagnosed autism, especially (in our culture) in privileged men.
