An internal email obtained by ProPublica said the agency made the change to be “consistent” with a Trump executive order. But at least two other federal law enforcement agencies are still requiring body cameras.

Everyone should love body cameras. Almost every single law enforcement interaction is going to involve the potential for some arguing after the fact about what really happened. Everyone on both sides should want the objective truth to be known. If the cops don’t want their interaction to be recorded, that is a massive red flag.

To me, it somewhat sounds like Trump told all the federal cops to throw away their bodycams, and the DEA obeyed him and some other ones ignored him. ICE, of course, got rid of theirs almost immediately after Trump showed up.
