If you plug an iPhone or iPad into one of these ports, you should be prompted if the port is trying to make a data connection. It usually reads something like “trust this computer?”

That would be a red flag if you’re just trying to charge your device. Just cancel the prompt and unplug your device to stay safe.

I wouldn’t doubt that Android devices do something similar.
