Meanwhile I got a memorial tattoo for my mom that says Mimento vivere (along with other Latin, blended with both Roman and Greek goddess -specifically Minerva and Athena- symbolism, because I like the blurred lines, they felt right for her), because “remember you will die” is a lot more depressing to me than “remember to live life”, and while both work with memorials, the latter is inherently more optimistic, which is how I want to remember her even tho it’s not at all who she was.
