Opened a warranty request for a pair of wireless earbuds that started acting up. Despite having seen reports from other users with the same issue successfully getting replacements I just couldn’t do it. Today I finally did the thing.

That was one of my fears as well. Thankfully, the issue is so wide spread that they are replacing them outright even after the warranty has elapsed. Sony WF-1000XM4 has an issue where one of the buds drains 5 times faster than the left. Started with firmware 1.4 or 1.4.2.

I have these and the left one is failing, much quieter. They also kinda have uneven battery usage. They wouldn’t help with the quiet audio, due to the warranty expired. I wonder if I could get them to bite on the battery issue.
I mentioned the difference in battery usage and heat when charging. The date of purchase and model may make a difference though. Bought mine at the end of 2021. This is a good article to get some info going into it. I did the online chat with Sony. Good luck!

I did that too in a late night productivity burst, just in time before a really long flight. I was pretty proud of myself on that one.

Kind of? If that makes sense. It’s less a feeling of accomplishment and more relief cause it isn’t hanging over my head anymore.
I see it like this; Instead of raising our mood from say a base 0, we’re getting to 0 from a negative deficit. A net gain, but not really making you feel better.
