They didn’t “find” the wealth, they already had it. They have had it for a long time. What we’re finding is that they’re comfortable doing away with is the myth of trickle down economics and the idea that our democracy self-regulates by allowing everyone a voice, that extremist values are countered by politeness, legality, and bureaucracy. Wealth isn’t power, it’s a resource that can be utilized for power if one wants. They used their wealth to get where they are and now they use it to do as they please and pay their loyalists to stand between us and them.
