Canada’s economy is still struggling to grow but some economists weighing in on the latest real gross domestic product results Friday argued that weakness may not qualify as a recession.

Three of the last 4 quarters have posted negative growth. That has been the agreed upon definition for a recession for decades.

    Who cares if it’s qualified as a recession on macro basis or not? Our economy is already going K-shape so a big chunk of people have been experiencing a recession for a while.
