So much needless hype building up to it.
I remember when I heard about it a few days ago, my thought was "oh, lucky for spain and thought nothing more.
Then the next thing I’m hearing is “96% in UK, ohmygosh” and BBC gushing over it like it was going to be the next biggest thing.
I saw the sky darken slightly. Cool. 2 hours well spent.
I had a nice evening with friends on a hill to watch a, for us humans at least, rare event. It was nice. No clouds apart from a few in the end in northern germany.
We all gathered in a neighbour’s garden with drinks and nibbles, and it was really lovely. The eclipse was almost a sideshow.
