The album includes recordings starting from ~1989, to at least Eddie Hazel’s last recordings before his death in 1992 — combined with new material into new tracks. According to Wikipedia, “‘Funkcronomicon’ is widely considered to be a full-fledged P-Funk album”.

Bandcamp pages for individual songs have credits for those songs, or they can be seen on Discogs. Many people performing or involved on the final recording have worked with Laswell elsewhere, as per his tradition.

‘If 6 Was 9’ and ‘Trumpets And Violins, Violins’ are covers of Jimi Hendrix.

‘Cosmic Slop’ is a cover of Funkadelic, under Laswell’s moniker Material, but with p-funk members’ vocals.

Abiodun Oyewole and Umar Bin Hassan are members of The Last Poets, a proto-hip-hop group that started in the sixties and whose style was closely borrowed by Gil Scott-Heron (with permission).
