Democrats are controlled opposition paid by the exact same donors as the openly fascist republicans. Just because they don’t want to actively kick out brown people and take basic rights does not meant that they aren’t perfectly willing to continue those policies elsewhere.

There is no true opposition party in the US because it is a dual party system meaning there will always be an “underdog opposition” fighting for a silent majority which magically never appears.

What does get people active is real opposition politics, not stale milquetoast Democratic walk-back policies meant to appease the republicans.

Gonna have to disagree on your second point. Stairs landings etc. are public places and if you live there you have every right to hang out wherever you please so long as its not impeding foot traffic. The thought that people existing outside their homes and apartments being a red flag is ridiculous and encourages people not to know their neighbors and community.
