There is lots of other football/soccer around. Watch and support it and don’t support FIFA. Why should they change when fans keep rewarding them for what they are doing? Watching, even for free, is supporting them.

I don’t think Carney was playing nice. He’s pragmatic. It is going to take a long time for Canada to shift off exporting to the US. May as well sell what we can until we have other markets. He’s just using Trump’s language to flatter him because, why not, it’s free, and often works. I don’t think Carney, or 90% of Canadians, believe our long term solution is to go back to the way things were with the US. That relationship is dead and gone.

Melania was right, she wasn’t an Epstein victim. She was fully in on it ready to sell her body to the highest bidder in order to stay in the US and bring her parents to the country. If she was under 18, she is a victim, although maybe a willing one? Women do things that knowingly make them a victim if they cannot find any other way to achieve what they want. Doesn’t make it right, but I can understand why some would do it.

I’ve had an ev for 8 years. I slow charge overnight for 95% of my milage. Same for everyone I know that lives in a house or townhouse. Apartment living varies depending on how old the apartment is and they may need to use other paid charging. Putting more all day or all night slower charging would help with load. Most people only have to use high speed charging when they don’t have accessible charging either at home or at work.

Funny thing I figured out over the years: widows do not date after their spouse dies for 2 reasons: 1) they were, and still are, madly in love with their spouse, or 2) their spouse/marriage absolutely sucked and they will never ever do that again. The latter is more common.

Sorry for you loss. You did bond, even if you don’t think it was the bond you might have made. Sometimes the best we can take from our parents is to try not to make their mistakes all over again, however it sounds like he got some stuff right. It may take awhile to fully hit you. Sometimes you don’t think you’re going to react to a loss and then out of the blue a month later something miniscule sets you off. Take care of yourself.

This is why I refer to myself as agnostic instead of atheist. I do not see an evidence of God as stated in the Bible, Torah, Koran or such religions. However I cannot prove that a different type of God does not exist. Something - called God - could be responsible for the beginning of everything. I don’t see that God as being too concerned about humans and what they do or don’t do. God and religion are not the same thing. Religions are entirely man made as a societal control mechanisms and abused by leadership greed.

Ironically that was the cause of the first worst scam calls. The govt had a do not call list that you could put your number on which then became THE phone book for scam calls instead of stopping them. If you’ve ever signed up for anything or paid for anything online and had to give your phone number, it went into a list that was sold on. With auto dialers, they just go through every permeation of possible numbers. I don’t get many calls on my cell because I keep that number private and use my already compromised land line for everything.

I don’t answer anything that isn’t identified and that I recognize. If they leave a message I will check it. It’s a pain that so many in the medical and service industries use unidentified numbers forcing telephone tag and they don’t use email or text only phone calls.

If you really think your life should be over, try to do something valuable first. I just read a good long description of anarchy on another post. Could be a good place to start.

I don’t think his home was invaded and he was raped when he was 30, like she was for “being a successful, beautiful woman”. Nor did he have the drug and alcohol addiction problems as a coping mechanism from that incident. Add in he doesn’t have a genetic condition that impairs his health. All in all, I think she is doing fantastic for all that life has thrown at her. All we see of him is Scientology propaganda photos.

It won’t even be as good of a deal, just any deal. But the important part is that it will be Trump’s deal. That’s all he cares about. That his name is on it.

Canadian. I have a chronic issue that I wait long times to see a specialist. Mainly because after seeing them for a few visits to update treatment, I don’t see them for a couple years but can’t immediately go back because I need to be re-referred which can take awhile due to waitlists. But I can see my GP (in person or phone call) very quickly if needed and all free. I had a serious issue not long ago and got seen in Urgent Care in a couple hours (avoided ER), sent to specialist next day, and got all the testing done quite quickly and then treated - less than a week. No cost. Might have been a bit quicker in a pay system but my life wasn’t threatened and I didn’t have to worry about whether or not it would be covered by my insurance or what the copay would be. I know people who complain about the slowness of non life threating issues but they always have the option of paying for care - they just need to leave Canada, and some do. I have a relative who was ticked that the surgeon he saw wouldn’t recommend an operation so he went to the US and paid to have it done only to find that it didn’t really solve his problem (just like his ‘idiot’ Canadian doc had said) and he was now out a load of money and still had a chronic issue. For life threatening issues, all my family and friends have had timely & free service. An aunt went into ER 2 weeks ago for severe stomach pain. Got a CT and was into surgery a day later. Five days in hosptial and she’s now recovering at home with occassional health nurse visits. No charge. Didn’t even have to pay for most of her medication costs because they were mostly covered under Pharmacare.
