I’m 32, I bought a cassette at the last concert I went to. (I generally prefer vinyl, but I don’t wanna buy a vinyl before a show starts cuz then I have to awkwardly hold it for the whole show)

I’m confused, does this mean that an ad can show the URL “google.com” even though clicking on it will take you to a different URL? Why doesn’t Google just make it so that the ad shows the actual URL that the ad links to?
The two examples of misogynistic memes in this article are really tame IMO. It’s the type of humor that teenage boys have always had, long before the existence of social media. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely think social media algorithms are having a major negative impact on society. But I don’t think content like this is the problem.
What kind of trash tier journalism is this. Genocide is a real, serious issue. You can’t just call something a genocide metaphorically, that’s incredibly disrespectful.
I remember using ChaCha. Good times
I don’t know much about GTA, but I have a hard time imagining GTA6 being anything less than a gigantic success. It doesn’t need to be a massive improvement over GTA5, it just needs to be a noticeable upgrade. The only way I can see it failing is if they get too greedy with their live service model, but even then it’s still probably going to sell like 40 million copies in its first year.
Apple could easily do the bare minimum to keep regulators at bay while still keeping the experience as shitty as possible so that Android will continue to look bad. For example they could refuse to implement reactions or typing indicators, or they could even deliberately compress videos. I’m expecting the worst until we see otherwise.
It’s cool to see someone making a product like this. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how to use phones more mindfully, and I had an idea for a concept very similar to this. So it’s cool to see that other people are on the same wavelength as me.
It would be cooler if the brick was activated by NFC instead of scanning it though. But maybe that’s an improvement they can make in a future version.
This article doesn’t make any sense. A project’s “success” can’t really be measured in any objective way like the article is implying. Even saying that a project is “on time” is a vague statement depending on the situation, and it’s not a good way to measure the quality of the end result or the efficiency of the development team.
Vroom Vroom by Charli XCX. Let’s ride
Good choice
As long as this is opt-in and users understand the risks, then I don’t have a problem with it. I wouldn’t use it on my personal PC, but it would probably be handy for my work PC. (Although my organization would probably block the feature for security reasons. So maybe it’s not actually that useful after all.)
So you’re saying instead of tacking “site:reddit.com” onto my Google search, I can now use ChatGPT to get the same information, except without the original context, and it will often be wrong? Amazing!
And this also means that companies will fill Reddit with fake comments promoting their brand to ensure that their brand gets mentioned in ChatGPT responses, right? Can’t wait!
Every time I do a coding test, I always overlook certain optimizations because I’m too stressed to think clearly. After the interview is done, I quickly realize what I did wrong. When this happens, I send a follow-up email where I tell the hiring manager that i made a mistake, and I provide my corrected code or explain what I should have done differently. I’ve landed two different jobs before by doing this. (One was a live coding test and the other was a take-home test.) So don’t be afraid to follow up with corrections, even if the deadline for the take-home test has passed.
damn I forgot about NFTs. That shit was funny
Since Daft Punk broke up they should get Justice to do the soundtrack
I watch The Needle Drop on YouTube. He’s a music reviewer. I don’t necessarily agree with the idea of being so critical of an art form that’s so subjective, but following his channel is a great way to stay up to date on noteworthy new albums coming out.
I ran into this issue while researching standing desks recently. There are very few places on the internet where you can find verifiably human-written comparisons between standing desk brands. Comments on Reddit all seem to be written by bots or people affiliated with the brands. Luckily I managed to find a YouTube reviewer who did some real comparisons.
I just recently saw Triangle. Definitely an under-appreciated movie. That one shot after she chases the girl to the top of the ship is S tier horror. Great ending too.
I’m not into celebrity gossip, but from what I can tell based on people I’ve seen who are into it, I think it’s less about the celebrities themselves and more about enjoying gossip in general. If you and your friends are really into gossip, but you don’t have anything new to say about people you know in real life, you can gossip about celebrities instead. It’s just a thing you can enjoy talking about despite not having any actual connection to it.
