EndeavourOS is more like an opinionated Arch install
Fellow EOS user and this is a hilarious yet accurate description. Still have vanilla arch but EOS on my laptop now since I tend to mess with it often.

This. That was my initial reaction before checking out the community. Your description is accurate, although I kinda wish they didn’t choose that community name. Lol.
Loving your username, btw, PugJesus.
Still waiting for LinusXI Pro Max.

Thank fucking god
Yep. During my very short (6 mos) stint as a tech support rep for Dell, I’ve learned to assume your customer is an idiot. Even when they’re using techie terms or jargon (and at times more so). Never assume other things besides that or you’ll probably regret it.
You have to be very clear and precise. A single misunderstanding can take a simple problem a lot of time to get fixed.

Why? First, because this editorial board doesn’t like getting yelled at. Second, there are going to be way fewer people with way less power mad at us.
I love this article lmao
14 is the new 6. Ngl, he looks young af.
This honestly makes a lot of sense. 🤔
I think it’s DDG. I forget exactly, but i think I’ve read somewhere DGG has ties to Bing. Idk the specifics.
As for Brave, yeah. I agree. It’s good to be wary. Unfortunately, not a lot of chromium-based alternatives. Linux has ungoogled chromium but security isn’t that great either. It sucks, tbh.
One risk of the fediverse is that data is cached locally from federated servers. That could put server owners in legal jeopardy for hosting illegal content.
This 100%. And not just piracy-related stuff.
Tbh, there have been some decisions by lemmy.world admins that i didn’t really support, but this one is understandable imo.
I wonder if the lemmy devs are aware of this and what steps can be taken to protect the instance owners from stuff in other instances that can get them in trouble.
Yup same. I was with Qobuz until it started having issues (kept buffering even if there’s no problem with my connection). Apple music is buggy on Win 10 and sounded worse than Qobuz so i skipped it. I’m now on Tidal (fuck MQA still) but still looking for goodbetter music streaming services. Netflix can rot.
I was kinda curious why Raddle wasn’t your first go-to. This explains it.
Yo momma’s so dumb she stayed in reddit.
Thank you! I’ll be back if I run into some trouble. :D
This. There’s archinstall now, too. A bit buggy in my experience so I prefer the old fashioned way.
I’ve never tried the extension pack, but I do have the guest additions. How do you install it?
I do have an account almost like that. But that one mostly blocks communities and I filter only by subscription. I don’t usually block users, though. This account has almost no communities blocked lol.
But yeah, I get where you’re coming from. That’s a good idea, tbh. Does kbin/lemmy show a user who has blocked him/her? Asking because some people may take it personally (like the one OP posted).
Why did you block him/her?
Also, I didn’t even know until now that we have supermods in kbin/lemmy. Lol.
I’m in Asia. I can’t speak for everyone but the people I know distrust the CCP much more than the US government. Sure, the US is far from blameless, but at least over here the CCP has a much worse reputation. I guess that’s one factor.
Another is more than a few people seem to think Meta is strictly a private company while tiktok is somehow being used/controlled by the Chinese government.
