Not much weirder than Bird Box. In it, you receive an immediate urge to kill yourself from seeing the monster. Something like this would work just as well for hearing it. Some have already mentioned sirens in this thread, which also fit well.

Yep. In Bird Box, the Monsters get you when you look at them. In A Quiet Place, when you speak (or make any other sound). So I’m looking for a Monster that gets you when you hear it.

Using Proton always seemed like a bad idea. People come to Proton in order to deGoogle or de-big-tech but then lock themselves into their ecosystem, defeating the entire purpose.
Not mention how scummy their PR-Team, their CEO and their Business Practices are.
So many Proton sponsered content creators spread lies about how Proton Mail is supposedly E2E encrypted or how Proton VPN is supposedly a privacy and security tool.
Time and time again they have lied about how much data they have and how much they have disclosed to investigating agencies.

The only way I could ever undestand someone using Proton Mail would be to use their service but behind your own domain, such that migrating away stays easy.

Some Proton Employee really contacted me here on lemmy to basically say that Proton could never do anything malicious, because they are owned by a non profit. Then how the heck can OpenAI be this scummy when they are also owned by a non profit? (See my Comment History)
Protons PR Team is so scummy. They spread misinformation about themselves in public forums and pay Content Creators to say incorrect things about online privacy to sell products to customers that don’t need those products.

Okay, so? OpenAI is also controlled by a Non-Profit (Similar Structure to Proton, I suppose). That doesn’t stop them from being scummy. Please explain your point.

Nothing is stopping Proton from doing the same thing next week. And seeing how many people lock themselves in to Proton (by using all their services, Apple style), they have a strong incentive to also do some “restructuring” and spike prices.
