I’m dumb and read the comment to which I replied as only wanting paying with cash “with no card or app”… I’m all in for avoiding app fragmentation and just use one card (cash is a real stretch… pretty unreasonable).

EVs are the perfect towing vehicles: with well designed fast chargers (accommodating car+trailer without unhitching), they would fit every conceivable parameter and make the reduced range viable.

It’s essential for long distance viability of EVs, though. I agree on the overblown part, but it’s a real matter, especially for edge cases like towing a trailer and frequent travelers. It’s one of those things that is seldom used but actually essential. Exactly like… a car? :D

I am sorry for you but the 12V battery failing in EVs with a huge high voltage battery slotted just next to it is pretty funny. I know it is relatively common and there are reasons, but c’mon 😆

If you want fast charging (which you usually do during a Road Trip, and only during a road trip) you usually need to pre-condition the battery, so driving by signs alone limits a lot the vehicles capabilities.

EDIT: I read this comment as only wanting cash payment, which I find unreasonable. App use should be optional or non-existent, I agree (but connected infrastructure is necessary, just not having an app for each charging network)

Well, I think this looks much better than the beaver teeth nonsense. A shame that many need to compensate their fragile ego with huge and upright bonnet area even in electric SUVs, but this car has the excuse of being yet another compromise, accepting gas and diesel engines up to V8.

I am ashamed that also on the latest Skoda EV, they said they compromised aerodynamics to give the car a more imposing stance. On a Skoda. Imposing stance. Why are we as a species so stupid?

It’s really not that big of a deal. They also have no ignition/start button, which is the only sane way of have it in a EV. You just get in and drive.

Oh Robusta has for sure its place in espresso blends: I actually prefer a good 20-30% blend for cappuccino, as 100% arabica is a bit thinner and gets a bit lost with the foamy milk :)

I tasted it alongside some arabica beans some years ago and it tasted like burnt rubber.

I also tried Vietnamese coffee at a place in Europe and that was even worse: cannot fathom drinking that liquid without heaps of sugar and/or milk! I hope that’s not how it always tastes… :)

Good car design waned hard lately, and while Mazda resisted the awful industry trends for a long time, they caved in with the latest goofy SUVs. This rebadged Changan shows how a couple of styling cues cannot replace a coherent design language, for which Mazda was famous for. It’s sad to see the Japanese don’t even try to modernize their offerings, big names won’t be around in 10-20 years with this approach…

Agreed, that list doesn’t help much because there is no indication of price points and the grinders are already the good picks among the available pool. I don’t know how good the video is, but I don’t like that channel much.
