I agree but if a freak winter storm comes in, you may have to flee south temporarily. That’s my point.

You’d be mistaken in thinking that everywhere will collapse at the same time. More than likely there are still “good” places to flee to. As the future collapse drags on they get fewer and fewer and less and less safe. But even just being “over there” is better than “here” in many cases.
Everyone should have something like that. In any emergency you can grab it and leave the house and be prepared.
I am a part of this group and everyone I work with thinks that it is capitalism’s fault, and the fault of the rich. The main problem is that they seem to think that the Republicans are going to help the poor because of decades of propaganda. There are a lot of conservatives who are in a prime position to be flipped. It’s like hate fucking. There are strong emotions but love and hate are not opposites, if you can redirect that hate at the right people, they may actually flip sides.
I am feeling unusually optimistic today so take this with a grain of salt. Talk to them about the specifics you hate about capitalism and how things could be different. Don’t mention ideologies.
I’m frothing at the mouth because it’s distorted, making an easy comparison by visuals impossible. The numbers don’t match the size of the pies
Hmm… How shall we win these votes from the lower class? Should we listen to their complaints and plights? Should we come up with ideas that resonate with the populace and excites them so they actually want to come out to vote for us rather than it being a feeling of obligation?
No. Let’s not do any of that, let’s just take bribes from the rich and do whatever they say. Then we can blame the left for being uninspired by our outrageous greed!
You realize there is a difference between ‘popular’ and ‘implemented,’ right?
Popular opinion has virtually no impact on policy, unless you’re rich. This article describes the relationship.
“Not only do ordinary citizens not have uniquely substantial power over policy decisions, they have little or no independent influence on policy at all."
Why did you bring up China? Wasn’t involved in the conversation, doesn’t qualify as a communist nation, hasn’t claimed to be for a while actually.
Sure China has done some impressive things but those two “weak-ass” arguments you brought up are neither weak nor small. China is an authoritarian state that abuses its people. You could unfortunately say that about many counties though.
Honestly, this brings me comfort. Now I know for sure those parasites are dead, and not just on an island after faking their deaths and will sleep better. :)
Sad but true. As the saying goes, when peaceful revolution becomes impossible, it’s no bueno.
The Israelis? Boy I hope so.
There need to be massive protests/riots about this shit. I’m talking about showing up on senators’ lawns with 10,000 or more people with guns (to keep police at a distance) or some shit. These people need to fucking FEAR US, the fucking voters or they will continue to rape our society out of existence.
They are joking. It’s a real picture.
It’s also helpful to remember that water boils at 100C and your body temp is about 36-37C. Helps me when I see the weather or something.
You’re delusional if you think it would only hurt Americans. America would become EVERYONE’S problem in a big way.
They said “some bullshit reason” because the same logic would very clearly not be applied to trump if he were to do the same. Think a bit. It’s ok.
Do you see how it could be led by a fascist? Does that seem good to you…? Are you just ok with Americans being murdered by the right? That will happen with Trump, I guarantee it.
If capitalism is allowed to continue it will render humanity extinct. If we collapse now, and are reduced to a fraction of our population this century, humanity may live.
I don’t enjoy that being the best option we have at this point. It brings me no joy. But what brings me less joy is knowing that we won’t even make a choice. We will continue blindly waddling along and as capitalism consumes the world, we will wonder who will save us. And no one will.
