  • I’m going to disagree with most of these comments. They don’t protect the prong so much as they protect the cord or other objects in the cords vicinity (painted surfaces, fragile surfaces, etc). The little plastic cap that covers tire stems on cars and bikes , while keeping it clean when installed, are primary to prevent chaffing issue on the inner tube whike shipped and stored; same thing with this prong shroud. They have holes in them as to not retain moisture I imagine.

Long story short, the prongs are metal and have corners. They are the strongest, “sharpest” thing in the box. The plastic isn’t protecting the prongs from us, it’s protecting us from the prongs.

  • Kamala is gonna absolutely destroy you in the debate.

The good news is: probably; the bad news is: she has to be absolutely perfect.

Nobody gives a shit what Trump says. It’s 99% saw dust. He can say or do almost anything, and it won’t even stand out against the backdrop of 50+ years of well publicized questionable behaviour. Then the people who benefit from his relevancy just hone in on the clips and bits that closest approach coherency. Trump isn’t even a man, so much as he is a concept. He could just stand there mutely making faces and his base would hunker down and figure out a way to conform it to their rudimentary sketch of reality. Where as everyone is going to be going through Harris’ every word with a fine tooth comb.

Even if she evicerates him, cites facts, speaks eloquently, it’s just going to be conspiracy fodder to the mob. They’re a mob. All they do is yell and burn down what they don’t understand (which is plentiful).

I’m excited to see it. But I would council against underestimating hateful people.

  • If “tough” means “focused”, I’m fairly indifferent. Indiscriminately breaking up families and harrassing people because you’re bigoted is not “tough”, it’s just hateful. It serves no real world functional purpose. And that’s the policies of the right. They aren’t tough, because they aren’t results orientated, beyond punishing “them”. I have to assume (hope) Harris is motivated more by real world cost benefit calculations and less by knee jerk stereotypes. Tough could mean fair, if she intends to apply the rules more justly, and less punativatively. If tough means more scrutiny with less prejudice, it sounds more like a better return on investment for border infrastructure.
