Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•laughs in 12 hours, while still driving through texas
5·20 hours agoYup. Just checked in Ontario, and if you want to drive from Windsor to Kenora, that’s a 24 hour drive. If you shortcut through the US, it’s only 19 hours
That’s a relief. The lighthouses are the only part I’ve had die on their own.

Not necessarily. It’s perfectly possible to have a healthy friendship with someone who has some self destructive habits that you aren’t going to hang around for (drugs, alcohol, etc). As an adult, you’d just remove yourself from the situation and not worry about being uncool, but this is a teenager we’re talking about.
On the plus side, no one gets mad when the prey kills a hunter

Canada@lemmy.ca•Mark Carney's Union-Busting Legacy and the Liberal Party's Abandonment of Workers
61·7 days agoI feel like the context you’re missing is that Carney was never elected to push forward any left wing goals. In the last election, there was no way Canada was going to move leftward. We were going right regardless. Carney is the more palatable option to Poilievre.
Plus, was anyone really out there expecting the banker to be a serious leftist?

Technology@lemmy.world•Former Twitch exec calls secrecy over Dr Disrespect’s ban a “big mistake”English
6·9 days agoYeah, that was my first thought. Banning the dude is cheap and easy and carries no legal consequences. Calling the dude a pedo may mean having to deal with a defamation case that could get expensive, even in the likely case that they win.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's keeping you from ditching the civilized world and living in the woods?
101·9 days agoWhich is a giant pain in the ass, especially if you’ve built a nice heated structure over the hole so that you don’t get hypothermia while pooping in the winter.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's keeping you from ditching the civilized world and living in the woods?
33·9 days agoGetting rid of those 10,000 people is relatively easy. The hard part is preventing 10,000 replacements from popping up.

19·9 days agoShitting in a hole is not the part that concerns me, it’s dealing with the hole once it’s full.

61·9 days agoAnd ironically enough, it’s the American brand data that’s actually more damaging on a personal basis. I’m guessing that the CCP wouldn’t be selling my driving data to my insurance company, so that they can jack up my rates. We already know that the American brands are doing exactly that.

You shut the fuck up. I’m still young dammnit. Pay no attention to the greying hair and sore joints.
Isn’t yeast kind of it’s own thing, kinda halfway between bacteria and fungi? Honey is very clearly an animal byproduct.
Is yeast actually a problem for vegans?

That infographic looks to be for a VPS deployment, which is where the cost would be coming from. They’re comparing to a $9,000+ OpenAI payment.
