Gen Z struggles with file systems in general, because the vast majority of their technical experience is on mobile OS’s. However, Gen Z compsci students are somehow far beyond the skill set that millennials had at their age. Or at least that has been my experience with interns over the past 12 years.
Which flavor? Pro?
Spiderwebs or insects can mess with the sensors, likewise with dust. Try spraying some canned air inside. Or if it’s a few years old, you may want to replace it.
This is not my experience on Windows 10 Pro
Everyone here is dramatically overcomplicating the solution. Simply:
This stops the update service and will absolutely prevent windows updates from running. BUT it reverts at the next boot, so be careful.
If you want a more permanent solution, you can edit a regkey to trick the system into looking for a local wsus server, which will prevent it from reaching out to the web. Read this for a rundown: https://learn.microsoft.com/de-de/security-updates/windowsupdateservices/21669493

I live in an apartment and just charge it once a week for 30 min while I do my grocery shopping. Ezpz. I’ve been doing this for 3 years and have never had a problem.
I work in IT. My favorite part is focusing on a difficult problem that no one else can solve, and fixing it. My nickname at work is “the tank” because they can point me at any issue and I’ll fix it. I’ll also toss in the paycheck. I had a recruiter tell me 2 years ago that my skill set isn’t even worth $65k and now I’m making more than double that.
My least favorite part is the occasional late nights. Worked a 20 hour shift the other day for a particularly difficult major issue. This happens maybe twice a year. I’m at an age where it takes a toll.
Another throwback? Surely this one won’t be garbage. Copium
I had no idea there was a word for this, I’m the same way.
I feel like I remember seeing avatars like this somewhere other than The Palace. Would’ve been late 90s / early 2000s.
I’ve never used Twitter, but I’ve heard that it’s just a porn site nowadays. Is that accurate?
Ebay tends to get the best price, but shipping is a pain. If you want to sell things quickly and easily, Facebook Marketplace is your best bet. If you just want to get rid of things without throwing them away then Buy Nothing on Facebook is best.
His fears happened to me. I worked a fully remote job for 5 years and ended up getting a horrible boss who worked me insane hours and liked to remind me that he could replace me with someone in India for 1/10th my salary.
I left and got a hybrid job that is 2 days in office. It pays 50% more, has a free gym, free EV charging, 30 days of vacation, and better health insurance. And I have a niche specialty so they won’t be able to replace me easily. Feels much more secure.
They also ditched PST file support.
Running from something that is trying to kill me and being chased. Occasionally it catches me and I start screaming in my sleep. That was a fun one to explain to my boyfriend when he moved in.
Very slow reply, but do you have a guide for setting this up?
Yes that’s it! I couldn’t think of the name. I’m so detached from social media.
I’ve never used Twitter, but my partner does and regularly comments on the quantity and quality of porn there. It’s my understanding that another popular social media app banned porn a few years ago and all of the porn moved to Twitter.
I used to do this, but Verizon gave me a Flip 5 for $500 less than Samsung was offering and I got a free tablet with it. I needed to switch off of Google Fi anyway because they didn’t have service at my job site.
