2·1 year agoYou have nothing to be ashamed of. Ep III has some issues, but it is still amazing and one of the most important movies. I have it in my top 2.

Critics must not understand Shran.
Yes, and the idea of spotting a rare fanciful cow while cowatching.
Abby… Normal?
Well, presumably more than a few dozen light years away. A few dozen lightyears is nothing on a cosmic scale.
The meme is correct. I can’t bring myself to rewatch it in your link.
That said… good game and plenty to be pleased about.
Ah, I could see that. It can be read either way, but I think the author intended it to be read this way. ‘Wow!’ As the reaction to the father’s statement that he won’t have to work if he does something he loves.
Yes how is the text supposed to for?

3·2 years agoIf you’re still using live journal in 2024, you should win SOMETHING.
We had a Garden Spider for one summer on the corner of our porch.
She was so chill and we loved having her around. They often rebuild that beautiful web every night.
She laid a few sacs, but none of her children stuck in our yard, sadly.
Saying ‘nu-uh… you are…’ is right up his alley.
Is it your comic? If so, good job.
I consider myself to have a decent vocabulary, but I would not have gotten sinuous’ definition correct.
Harbinger I knew, but it’s nice to see In a positive example.
The other two were new to me.
They may not be depicted accurately, but they do happen.

Technology@beehaw.org•Man makes money buying his own pizza on DoorDash app
11·2 years agoDoordash charges restaurants a percentage of the gross from the sale. Rather than eat this cost, restaurants are encouraged but not forced to add a markup on the prices they give Doordash (or insert your favorite third party delivery app here). They all do it.
If you order from a store’s own website though, Doordash (I don’t know if other third parties do this) did not “find” or create the business/order… they are really only handling the delivery portion.
In this instance, they still have some fees but do not take the large percentage, as that is a finder or broker fee. They aren’t bringing the restaurant the business, it’s the other way around.
Thus, restaurants can use their normal pricing. If you can find the places near you doing this, it’s a much better deal than using Doordash normally.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are people so squicked out about "Toilet to Tap" / reclaimed water when it basically already works that way?
7·2 years agoI thought for the longest time that homeopathy was just a generic name for alternative medicines or something. Wasn’t for me regardless so I never gave it a second thought or dug into it.
Someone recently explained what it was to me and I just started laughing. Hilarious. Kinda. I had no clue.

Wth… shows Thursday on my machine…
