There is an extension called “Social Fixer” that brings back the sort by new and allows you to filter out all the ‘sponsored’ and ‘suggested’ bullshit. It’s not being actively updated anymore, but it still works fine.

What is the metric for “greatest sci-fi directors of all time”? It sounds like they’re just comparing the most successful old scifi movies. I have a soft spot for some older sci-fi movies, but most old sci-fi film is incredibly corny and not worth wasting time on.
The best sci-fi doesn’t come in a single hour and half long film - it comes from season long story archs with several integrating sub plots.
I know there are a lot of gen-X and older out there that like to argue for the self-contained world of episodic Trek, but that format needs to die. It’s boring.
How about we just scrap the ISP instead and start over with a company that can list what they are charging for? This isn’t hard. Either it’s a legitimate fee or it’s not. I have a feeling they just don’t want to disclose that they have been ripping people off for a few extra bucks every bill for the last decade.
I typically resort to reading when I run out of good shows to watch.
It happens pretty quickly for me. I usually watch a whole season in one sitting though. I absolutely will not watch a TV show unless it has multiple seasons for this reason.
Because they have like 15 mobile apps.
Yeah. that is probably true for many since we all came looking for an alternative due to the loss of our mobile app… Lemmy is a little more mature since it’s been around a lot longer, so it already had an API to build on. @Rideranton has been working on an API and has several pending pull requests to implement one. I truly believe kbin is a better software so I’m hoping that the API sparks more dev interest.
I tend to agree with the sentiment here that we are all the winners for having discovered and are still using kbin, a platform that most wouldn’t have even known about before Reddit’s shenanigans. Though, I want to point out that total user activity on kbin is down 7,000 people since about 10 days ago…
It seems people are either going back, or are abandoning for Lemmy because of their abundance of mobile apps. Artemis is a decent kbin app, and is almost ready to release for public beta now that the API is complete (just waiting on integration) - though I fear it needs to happen sooner than later if we are to retain the userbase.
Agreed! Now get out there and contribute to kbin specific magazines and be part of it!
Greatswords have better damage dice anyway. :)
NSFW content doesn’t even show up anywhere for me in kbin - unless I go directly to the magazine/community. I have everything set to allow it to show, but it just won’t. I don’t understand how y’all are getting random tidbits of titties without trying, but it seems to be actively censored for me.
Considering the level of coordination it takes to make anything cohesive on those, let’s see spez try and downplay us again with ‘only a small percentage of users’.
It’s either public feedback, or it can’t be trusted.
I’m starting to believe it’s being shadow omitted from feeds on kbin. I sub to many nsfw lemmy communities, which are incredibly active, but only see maybe 1 post if I scroll for an hour.
I’m confused, I didn’t think foot fetish was common among men either? There is definitely a niche for everyone on the internet, but I was not aware that it was a common place interest.
None that I’m aware of, but please, don’t let the lack of something here keep you from doing that.
The same will happen with Relay for Reddit soon too. DBrady is still holding open the app, paying the costs for it, so that he can release a subscription model. I love Relay, but I (and I imagine others) won’t pay a subscription for a stripped down version where majority of the $$$ goes to Reddit and not the developer… If he had an option to pay him directly I would consider it though.
Lance Reddick (RIP) by far. That man was incredible.
There would be a lot fewer old people by the end of the month… (ICU Nurse)
