That could be it tbh. I kinda forgot I was dealing with a server on europe, but I haven’t really seen any trusworthy instances in south america and most countries here don’t have well developed privacy laws.

To be honest, Gajim for Desktop and Monocles for android are an extremely accesible combination to present to new people.
I’m trying to move my friends away from corpo platforms but screensharing is proving to be a real bottleneck. AFAIK movim’s client is the only one that supports screensharing but needs a chromium browser to share audio, also I think thw client is overall really ugly and sluggish so I don’t recommend it a lot.
Omarchy is a essentially an Arch setup with Hyprland.
However, if you don’t want frequent and possibly unstable updates, I’d suggest staying away from Arch in it’s entirety and trying Fedora instead. It’s got plenty of OoTB setups to choose from without having to mannualy install and configure them.

Cooking @lemmy.world•[DISCUSSION] What's your go-to struggle meal?
4·1 month agoRice, lentils, scrambled eggs. A fairly balanced meal that has little to no flavour so you can just add any flavour powders or straight up shredded cheese to fit your needs. Every ingredient can be bought in bulk to save money and could also make for a good stew if you have meat.

I hate this and I hate you. Thank you
I really want to buy a used one but I don’t have a trusted local refurbisher and even then it would cost me at least 300 dollrs because of third world shenanigans
If I remember correctly the google sandboxing should make up for that, though I’d suggest finding someone with your exact problem
Is there a mega thread explaining the main Android alternatives and their installations? Graphene looks like the best one but a google pixel is way too expensive for me and I don’t have the specs to compile Calyx (I dont remember if it was calyx but one of them had a guide recommending mimimun 16/500GB)

Any thoughts on Tuta for email and calendar? I wanted to hop on proton but they are associated to the french right and it gave me the ick.
