Yup. Have put it down to the kids being at nursery and bringing back every cough and sniffle. It’s wrecked my wife’s sleeping because we’ve a baby who wants to feed when he’s feeling under the weather and he’s had a cold for what feels like weeks.
Master Chef has been on telly for 34 years, this is disgusting Loyd Grossman erasure.
How dare you “two YouTubers” unname then when one is Ashens, king of tat, lord of the brown sofa.
It’s on his second channel for those interested.
I set up a play-money prediction market on whether this would happen, and it doesn’t look like many people have faith in Musk to pull this one off.
It’s really interesting that (and I’m not musical enough to know any terms to describe this) lots of the bits that were in the foreground of previous versions are now in the background, and it feels like the stuff that’s in the foreground is stuff that used to be in the background.
I’m not sure I like it that much (my preferred rendition is either the early Tennant version or the Orbital version) but it’s definitely engaged me in a way that recent revisions didn’t.
I think about this show often. Great concept, I did find the first episode online once and felt that it was probably one of those shows that doesn’t hold up when you’re an adult.
We had the police in at work doing a talk and they mentioned this, apparently the HGVs are fully marked up and super obviously police vehicles, and they”re trying to catch people on their mobiles.
I’ve never actually seen one of these HGVs though so I don’t know the copaganda-free truth.
Depending on how young / careless your bairn is, you could reduce splashing with a narrow-necked receptacle? I’m thinking of something like a glass bottle barely wide enough to receive the frother, so there’s not space for the milk to easily escape.
I’m with you, I’m a big nerd but rarely bounced so hard off a sci-fi show as I bounced off Fringe.
I cannot imagine how the patreon user who just received an espresso machine the price of a small car must feel. Very cool move from James.
Play-money prediction market: will the exploration find Nessie?
I guess I’d caveat that I’ve never really enjoyed any of the TV adaptations, but they keep making them, so someone must be enjoying them!
The Long Earth series is brilliant, I really enjoyed it. It doesn’t feel very Pratchetty but it scratches an alternate universe sci fi itch in a very satisfying way.
Massive Pratchett fan here so I’m giving the new series of Good Omens a go, and I don’t know why I keep subjecting myself to TV Pratchett adaptations.
There’s the odd giggle, and I like the actors, but three episodes in it just goes nowhere, it’s just a series of skits with Aziraphale and Crowley.
They’re only one component of what made the book great, but I get the feeling that the production crew have gone “Tennant and Sheen are great, the show is now only about them”.
New Futurama is starting to appear on Disney+. Watched the first one last night, and it’s good. Got a few chuckles, re-set the scene, it’s not the absolute peak of the show but if it maintains this level of quality then I’ll not be upset about it being revived again.
If you’re a gamer then I’d strongly recommend you get a playlist of bangers from your favourite games. They tend to be high energy, low on distracting lyrics, and if you’ve played the game any amount then they’ve might have gotten associated with a “locked in” brain state so you feel like whatever task you’re achieving is analogous to gaming.
My playlist has tracks from Streets of Rage 2, Golden Sun, Pokémon, Smash Bros and Super Hexagon amongst others.
