DAMN YOU ANTHROPOMORPHIZED COMPANY RUN BY NOBODY WHO THEREFORE CAN MAKE SHITTY DECISIONS HIDING BEHIND CAPITALISM!!!
Thank your glorious mods for protecting our corporate overlords.
NounsAndWords@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Itch.io games site taken downEnglish614·7 months agoOf course not. But do people really get to make shitty decisions that impact other people while hiding behind the veil of corporate structure without being directly named and shamed for their decisions?

NounsAndWords@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How much can we hope is being put in place behind the scenes at the US federal level to mitigate the damage Trump will do? Can any of it be effective?10·7 months agoThere are some things they can do like agreements/contracts going several years into the future, but the problem is anything they can do that on its face locks in the next admin, can be undone by the courts…which they now control at the highest level by a 6-3 majority, which at best remains only a 6-3 majority for the next 4 years and probably much much longer than that. Thomas will retire in this admin and they’ll get a new young ultra conservative in his place.
They’re gonna fuck everything up. They promised to.
They have a razor thin margin in Congress though, so anything requiring purse strings (money) our best hope is that they’re just really dysfunctional (which we know they are) and fight too much about how much to hurt other people to get much done.
But yeah, it’s looking dark.

That email address, however, belonged to another Booking. com customer”—Alfie—“which caused the reservation to be linked to their account.”

She has turned down the job so many times and after a while I slowly began to get it.

I’m relatively conservative, so probably a blend of bonds and market tracking index funds.
I know exactly when I’ll need them, the day after I throw them out.

One side proved they were actually concerned about the age of the candidates and did something about it while the other digs their heads in the sand and ignores reality.
Sure seems to be a super common theme these days…

They’re clearly in his head, but I mean, they’re spending a lot of money and have a literal campaign going so I’m not sure I would call it rent free.
NounsAndWords@lemmy.worldto Facepalm@lemmy.wtf•She thought the US constitution was read-only38·10 months agoBut I know also that laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths disclosed, and manners and opinions change with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also, and keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy, as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.
-Some stupid idiot who never read the Constitution, probably
