Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Three developers' different philosophies on difficulty for their games
144·20 days agoExactly. I love Souls games but I think having an option somewhere for people that need it wouldn’t ruin the intended experience. Especially if there’s a disclaimer before you choose it.
I’m not mad they don’t have it or anything. But like, shouldn’t there be a way to play if you literally can’t otherwise?

Potential sea lioning? That would be literally any question. And it was only the second question. And the topic is not whatsoever the type of controversial thing people would usually approach in that way.
Honestly, I bristle at the overuse of the term sea lioning. It makes the internet a much worse place if we go around assuming people are only trying to find out stuff they don’t know from other humans as a malicious method to waste our time. That comic did more harm than good, imo

Worth a listen if you like punk-ish stuff

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it me or does Lemmy have a propaganda problem?
2·28 days agoI guess! Possibly high effort, low reward but it could work I suppose.
Idea being those converts go on to do the work for you elsewhere.
But I still think they’re just people after this stage. Lots of people become communist on their own as well. You don’t need to glaze China to do it but it probably creates a bit of cognitive dissonance to see how awful it is there. So you ignore stuff like the uyghurs and pretend it’s amazing so you can pretend communism will work.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it me or does Lemmy have a propaganda problem?
104·28 days agoAs everyone else has said, there is definitely this issue on Lemmy, when criticising China and Russia especially. Happened to me a few times. It’s weird.
I once did a test to see if the bias was really that bad and commented on a relevant news article on .ml something like “fuck Putin. Russia is committing war crimes in Ukraine” maybe with a couple of extra similar phrases. Comment deleted by mods with no explanation. Insane.
I could just be paranoid but I’m fairly convinced the responses weren’t from patriotic citizens. I think they were paid trolls or bots, and I think their purpose was to quiet negative talking points about the countries that were mentioned.
This is a common suggestion. I can see why people say it, but I just find it hard to believe people are really spending time here to do that. Wouldn’t you just go to reddit? What, do you want to convert the trekkies and Linux evangelists?
I think it’s much scarier than that: some people are just fucking nuts

This is a very volatile section of the world, everyone should pay us for helping with it
I would argue my dick is used the vast majority of time, in a nonsexual manner
No doubt. If we’re talking % of time then basically nothing is sexual.
But primarily it is a sexual organ. That is why we have them. I think that’s the difference when it comes to your mouth example. Or hands as well. It’s a little silly to take it to that extreme.
But certainly people overreact about nudity
I think you have good points but it doesn’t fit with current social norms in most places. People respond like this because we don’t usually see people’s junk. Breaking this norm sends people’s minds right to sex because that’s when you usually see other people naked.
a naked body is not inherently a sexual object
Genuine question: what about a dick/vagina? Likewise it is natural and has other functions too. But it is an inherently sexual object, right?
If so, then I think it’s clear why people see naked bodies (literally, the stuff we see all the time + visible dick/vagina + nipples) as inherently sexual. Nudity is fine in theory, but you don’t get one without the other.

Also maybe the top left to bottom right diagonal, but the blurry patient vision thing is not that common

4·2 months agoYeah they should link to it anyway!
And yes, this is a bad law. Rushed in a few months before an election by a right-wing coalition including the fascist SD. Things went badly so now they’re throwing scraps to the frothing racists in their base in a desperate attempt to maintain power. They don’t care if it’s a good law, it’s chum for dumbasses.

17·2 months agoNo doubt! And just because something is illegal doesn’t mean it’s unethical.
The problem is practical. If rules are not written down then you can have punishment without justification, and as an individual you can’t depend on fair treatment by the state.

World News@lemmy.world•Sweden passes 'good behaviour' law to kick out misbehaving immigrantsEnglish
86·2 months agoClearly respect for democracy and protection of minorities should be respected by immigrants, and immigrants coming from different cultures that do not have this respect as part of their culture is a democratic problem for more developed cultures.
Then make it a requirement of entry. Or - and I can’t stress this enough - shut the fuck up about it.
“Oh we let you in and you haven’t done anything wrong legally but we just realised we don’t like you so please leave.”
Grow the fuck up. Change the rules fairly or deal with the consequences of your actions.
Not you personally, obviously. This argument is just pathetic.
Like if you don’t want asylum seekers or immigrants, just say so. Pull out of the conventions. Change the laws. Do whatever. But don’t accept people in and then act like they’re the problem rather than your own short sightedness (and, often, straight out racism).

World News@lemmy.world•Sweden passes 'good behaviour' law to kick out misbehaving immigrantsEnglish
272·2 months agoHow is it fair when someone shitty is allowed entry who ends up hurting civilians but civilians are expected to suck it up
Civilians are expected to suck it up? Why? This would only be true if it’s not illegal. If it truly hurts civilians, why not make it illegal instead?
It is fair because if a Swedish citizen did something that “hurts civilians” but is not illegal, the victims would also be “expected to suck it up.”
Making some things only punishable if you aren’t Swedish is exactly what you would expect from the fascists in SD. Not really something to aspire to if you’re a sane, caring individual. It is the definition of unfair.

Good heavens! I’m starting to think there’s something rotten in this “steal people’s work, regurgitate it back at them at great environmental cost and if they don’t like it, force it down their throats at every opportunity” industry
