Up and coming? Pff. It’s a fade that will pass like the wind
If your choices are between working one specific job or starving then you owe it to yourself and your family to improve your marketable skills or value
I remember seeing threads like “What was the best purchase that you made for under 100” or some variation every once in a while. I’m sure those got corpo eyes real interested if they weren’t advertising in them already.
“Zoom in, there’s a period: Don’t. Be evil.”
I’ve been thinking about getting a newer phone than my S9 but I don’t see a compelling reason to get a 24 over a 23
I’d suggest anyone intrigued read Gaia’s Garden by Toby Hemenway and look into permaculture!
Starting your own forest garden is fantastic but please don’t alter any existing forests without learning about the existing eco system and which native plants would best fit into it
Gardening and forest gardening! Planting something starts another living organism and with good planning there may be no maintenance required on your part. You’ll just have this happy little tree/shrub/herb/vine growing its own way
I don’t think so. As long as nothing gets inside the outlet box there should be no fire hazard. There are acoustic caulk that don’t dry out and crack, which helps with sound proofing. I’ve heard Red Devil caulk works just as well, but it’s less expensive because it doesn’t have “acoustic” on the label
In addition to the socket sealers on outlets you can caulk any gaps between the outlet box and drywall. (Don’t put anything inside the outlet box)
The same thing can be done with can light fixtures if you’re on the top floor

In addition, the fallout is not over. Until recently I was using a 3rd party app that was only barred from signing in to reddit, I was still able to read and navigate the website. Now it seems that they have cut that access off so that drove me to create an account here.
I’ll still use reddit whenever I’m at my pc on weekdays, but if content moves elsewhere I will likely follow and wean off reddit further.
Just know that complete self sufficiency is a pipe dream, whereas community sufficiency is much more achievable
