Just trying to chill, dudes. ✌️
They kind of do, but it really adds to it. Sort of like a corn dumpling almost. But it’s best to just crumble them up and mix them in slowly from the top of the soup. Then only the bottom ones get soggy, and you get a little crunch left from what you pull off the top of the pile.
I personally started pressing my own tortillas recently, and they’re a little thick and they turn into literally corn dumplings.
I second the taco soup. I call it tortilla soup and do it a little differently, as they stated. It is really simple and really quite delicious.
I make it with a whole chicken which is fairly cheap, in a slow cooker, hard to mess up. But just the other night i made it with some plain chicken breasts i picked up that day. Butterfly cut them seared them off and finished them in the soup.
Three or four cups of Chicken stock.
I omit the taco seasoning and just use healthy amount of cumin and a little chili powder. Salt (depending on salt content of chicken stock), pepper, garlic powder.
Cans of corn, black beans, garbanzo beans, roasted tomato.
I recently started sauteeing a heap of mushrooms chopped to bits and adding that too.
Finish with a squirt of lime, some cheese, and tortilla chips, or i sometimes crisp up some regular corn tortillas and cut them up in it.
Super simple, tasty. I personally can eat it throughout the week.
Aw too bad, just curious. Looks heartbreaking!
Wow, that crescendo was very striking. Like a frozen spike grew right next to my spine. From 1:30 to 2:00 it started as a splinter and grew. Tragic.
Have you seen this movie? I’m curious.
Yeah it’s been over a year dealing with it being bad and getting worse typically. A lot of other random problems that I’ve just associated with long rona. I can go and get checked out for relatively cheap i’m fairly certain. Key words checked out, after that who knows though. It’s freaking me out kind of but it’s a good idea I know. Thanks for freaking me out! Lol for real though, thank you.
Thank you for your response. I have a friend with celiac but he doesn’t cook much for himself, he sticks with pre packaged stuff. I always prefer fresh if possible. I feel like the main stick in my side is going to be trying to be gluten free while also lactose intolerant. I’ve adapted well to a fairly lactose free diet and just worry about even more being cut.
Good idea for searching for celiac friendly recipes, i was looking up “gluten free/lactose free” so I’m not exactly appalled i was getting vegan recipes. Doesn’t seem like there’s much left after taking those ingredients away! But that’s negative, i can see you’re right there are still plenty of things you can have. I’m gonna try to stay positive and take your advice.
Thank you for the tip on pasta. This is a big deal for me because i just recently got into it, and I’d like to continue making my own. With my health in decline making pasta is kind of good workout sadly enough. I haven’t made any other types, but can imagine a corn pasta being tasty enough. I’m a big fan of Asian cuisine, so maybe rice noodles could be another direction too. (Though to be honest i didn’t realize until posting this that rice is gluten free)
Okay i feel really dumb now… rice and potatoes are gluten free?! Idk i just thought rice was rather wheat like, and potatoes are so starchy. That makes me less opposed to making the switch need be.
I haven’t thought about trying to make my own gluten free loaves, i am also an avid baker. Thanks for the tip, and i wouldn’t ever have thought to buy xanthan gum to use for anything lol, but I’ve seen it.
That was pretty interesting, thanks for sharing. Tobasco on peanut butter, I could try it. Tobasco on vanilla ice cream, I /have/ to try that 😆 not sure why but that sounds so strangely enticing.
I’ve always heard great things, and i loved him in fight club, and more importantly Tenacious D; Pick of Destiny. I am looking forward to looking up this album, because i would describe my music interests as similar as yours.
