Ok but real advice, people don’t deserve IT supports, if I give clear instructions and they don’t follow them, it’s magically my exclusive fault that their ancient computer had an hardware failure that happens to be completely unrelated to the issue I was tasked with. Please, don’t yell at me. My computer, my issues, your computer, your issues. I had experiences that made me this way, ye’ old tech wizards in your mighty towers too are at risk of meeting assholes.

I read stuff from one of my Jr’s all the time and most of it is made with AI. I don’t understand most of it and neither does the Dev. He keeps saying how much he’s learned from AI but peer programming with him is the pits. I try to say stuff like, “Oops! Looks like we forgot the packages.” And then 10 secs of silence later, “So you can go to line 24 and type…”
So what kind of code is that? Code lyoko? Are they using more advanced code than their training should make one think?

how this would actually be enforced; maybe the official website and download mirrors for MidnightBSD will be out of reach for people in those regions. Of course, a tech-savvy crowd who uses MidnightBSD will know how to bypass such an embargo. It makes you wonder how effective such age verification laws are. Oh wait, some of these so-called public servants are also pushing for VPNs to be banned.
As it stands these laws are unenforcable, and plenty of businesses would be impacted. First, think of the meaning of ’ internet connected device, with an operating system '; such vague definition. Is a modern fridge, sensor or monitoring system supposed to verify the age of any user that comes in touch with these? Impractical. Second, any commercial activity has computers running everything. These computers are not registered for any single user, but for the activity as a whole. The emplyees may insert a code when they operate the computer (emplyee - Id within the business) but that’s it. Office complexes would be decimated by this stupid setup. And there comes the VPN ban. Again, plenty of businesses rely on vpn and private networks. Once again, this is quite possibly unenforceable without ruining the backbone of the infrastructure we collectively use. People writing laws like thes are quite possibly unable to understand how it runs. The lack of technical knowledge is staggering.
Also what about SERVERS ? What are we supposed to do?

The introduced it first in saudi arabia in 2019, after women were given the right to drive, turns out they found it good so they used this setting in the US (2025) and elsewhere (2025 - 2026). The feature is a priority queue for women
When requesting a trip, women will receive a new option called ‘Women Drivers.’ If the wait time is longer than they want, though, they’ll still have the option to receive other rides with faster pickup times.
In other words, if you’re a guy and the area is poorly covered, you get your uber driver all the same.

Don’t read the reddit comments, thank me later.
I love me some medical joke that I am one of the few to understand

The grand sonnerie / westminster / grandfathe clock (2 or 3 barrels - mainsprings) with relative train wheels. The snail like feature in the middle is what tells the chime how to tell the time - with the mallets. two or three mallets. Setting the time anticlockwise undoes the sync between the time on the dial and the chime.
Even worse in perpetual calendars like these, where the time must be synced with the 100-years worth of calculations done by the complications, a problem that happens even while letting it idle for too long, because you’d have to manually set date, year, decade, moonphase, and everything else. But i’m too poor to own one of them.

The only real problem with daylight savings for me is this kind of thing, because they can’t be adjusted anticlockwise.

“Because local newsrooms are so strapped, they are turning for assistance on the news making process in every direction,” Rinehart wrote in a company Slack message. “Advance Publications got there first, others will follow,” she added, referring to the Plain Dealer’s publisher. “Resistance is futile. " […] Spinning a yarn, Rinehart also claimed that some editors told her that they would “prefer to have reporters report and have articles at least pre-written by AI.” […] “There are many — and I mean MANY — editors who would prefer an AI-written article to a human-written one,” she wrote. “Reporting and writing are two different skill sets and rare — RARE — is the occasion when it’s wrapped into one person.”
I’ll let the CEO quotes here because they’re so asinine, on a technical level and human level. I have no idea how to comment these.

For oldies like me, this is like watching the Iraq military operations ‘leak’, like the time they targeted a civilian van with high imapct artillery. That image is burnt in my mind. A white van, two men collecting their things around, than the vehicle is bombed as it is going down a dusty road.
We cannot be willing to fight for any such power. We have freedom to be after all.

passwords and form data can be synchronized. Enabling password and form data synchronization might give some users pause for thought, particularly after the Windows Recall fiasco, but users worried about Redmond slurping data should probably consider an alternative to Windows anyway.
Definition of keylogger:
While the programs themselves are legal,[3] with many designed to allow employers to oversee the use of their computers, keyloggers are most often used for stealing passwords and other confidential information.[4][5] Keystroke logging can also be utilized to monitor activities of children in schools or at home and by law enforcement officials to investigate malicious usage.[6]
(Wikipedia)
Ask yourself, who’s investigating what, and why? Keylogger have been used in specific and strongly defined use cases. This is neither.
the mark of the shit, as i see it.
it was easy in 2021 as well, miss. We’ve been describing the fatal flaws since day one, after seeing what the ‘’’ tech ‘’’ was like.
To be clear not all of pizzacake’s work is fun, but they have a snark sub just for her…and you know what snark sub turn into. I never understood this.
Somehow reddit has a parasocial relationship with this person, they hate her. She committed the crime of being mildly cringe. And she has and OF, which i’m sure a lot of users on reddit must have seen, but they act like they’re above her just because. Yes she does NSFW stuff, nothing weird tho.
I know an NSFW artist when I see it.

contracted workers at a Kenya-based company called Sama. These workers are data annotators who are tasked with reviewing footage captured from the camera on the glasses and labeling it to help AI systems get better at identifying what they see
Sama is the same company that classified outputs and training material for openai.
oh, yes, somebody made this a long time ago, in response to the performance of new webpages https://motherfuckingwebsite.com/
