Well they blew up the Chicken Man in Philly last night!
How about we just make tipping rounding and pay people a living wage? You know in Europe, eating out is not more expensive than it is in the US and they don’t beg for tips. It’s such bullshit here
But if this scenario were the case, then they likely would have visa sponsorship to work a white collar job. That would thus make them documented. Many banks have lending guidelines for this scenario, which again makes this law even more useless
Right, it is a loan, which means the principle is spent to buy a house for someone and they pay you back over 30 years. That is a huge capital investment with a long repayment period.
California also has low supply of housing for citizens, so why specifically help undocumented immigrants get housing when their claim is far less solid than a resident with proper standing?
My dad and my stepmom would love to do more for our 2 year old, but my dad still works, my step-mom has a lot of health issues that they have to maintain appointments for, and they also have like 6 other grandchildren from my stepbrothers. My wife and I live an hour away and do very well financially, so they not only don’t have the time, but could not realistically care for him that often.
My mom is well meaning, but my step-dad is a moron and they own like 4 vehicles and only 1 works. They are not poor, just dumb when it comes to cars. My mom is also a narcissist and it does not occur to her that if she asked to help more that she could. We’ve talked to her about it, and she just doesn’t attempt to do anything.
My grandparents, now in their 80s, love every minute with the little guy, but they don’t have the energy they used to.
Contrast that with out daycare: the facility is run by two sisters and their retired father helps out to keep busy. They hire teachers at a living wage and absolutely love the kids that attend. Our little guy has not yet had his 2nd birthday and he knows almost all of his letters, he can count to 14, he knows his shapes, and he has a great vocabulary already. He has a best friend, he is very social with the other kids and they all share very well. The older kids are all very well spoken, polite, and respectful to each other. We are so lucky we found such a great place.
Grandma and grandpa simply could not provide him with that. He is in a place where he is safe and loved at all times, and the cost to put him there should be tax deductible. We burn through the child care tax deduction by February.
And anyone who thinks Trump/Vance is the right choice for families is a fucking moron. It’s ridiculous
Good luck, looks like the priced it by the pound
He lost his reelection a while ago. His district changed due to redistricting. I met him at the Huntington Woods 4th of July parade. Really seemed like a great guy
How is he putting Israeli lives over Americans? You can say he favors Isreali lives over Palestinian ones, but at what point are we going to accept that Isreal is at war, not the US? We cannot force Isreal to just stop, it’s not that simple.
No, it’s more like 3-400. The key point here is not the range, but the charging time
I doubt Newsome, you wouldn’t want both from California
This is not comparable.
The fuel is spent and sold. Gas stations usually only have a few days supply of inventory.
This is like holding engines in inventory to swap without notice on the spot. But in this case the engines cost $10k+.
The fee to swap is about $12…so you have to swap each battery about 800 times to break even. See how you’re wrong yet?
The answer is massive government support. The cost of those stations has to be insane…imagine the inventory holding cost of those batteries
Well, not every job is a career. At least you don’t have to chase them for payment and you know you’re a transaction to them. Develop skills and work somewhere that values you slightly more and at least gives benefits.
This is just not true…daily pay means that you get more compounding periods from your money and the company also has to somehow manage payroll for that.
I get paid monthly, so when you account for time value of money, I’m getting a bad deal. It costs the company less on a number of fronts to pay less frequently.
Jobs that offer daily pay seem to be lower wage jobs, so I get why you would associate that negatively, but at least you get your money quickly for time worked if you’re in a bind
Isn’t Sunak the third since the 2019 election?
Enjoy living under Trump, then
Because with experience comes wisdom. It sounds like she was trying to become eligible under the mental illness section from the one line we are given from the father who said she is in reasonably good physical health.
If it is depression or something, it’s possible with treatment that she could look back on it one day as a dark period, but one she’s glad she made it through. Things that were once so major in life might become minor in the long run.
You also don’t know what she’s going through either because the article did not provide any detail at all. For all we know, she could have an easily treated chemical imbalance. I think the point is that a 27 year old without a terminal illness shouldn’t just be able to commit medically assisted suicide.
I don’t know what this person has gone through because it doesn’t say in the article, but 27 is still young. It’s also possible that this is a huge mistake that she would regret with hindsight (well SHE wouldn’t, but all of her loved ones certainly would).
The word you’re looking for is etcetera. And unless you plan to return to community banks where you have to get to know the local banker to get a mortgage, you need this system.
I’m not sure how tying this to capitalism makes sense…lending is a risk, they are betting that you’ll remain employed and will continue to pay them - there is a chance you won’t and you pay a premium to get money now. Communist countries also have this system, but it is more centrally controlled by the State.
