Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•To those who grew up in religious schools, what's the craziest thing you remember a teacher telling you?

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Steam is adding support to show estimated FPS for your hardware before buying a game
1·2 days agoI’m happy you can appreciate frames that low. My fiance makes fun of me cuz I stress about anything below 60 lol granted my current PC doesn’t have these issues. Plus I used to game on laptops so I’m perfectly content with lower graphics for smooth frame rate.
Man I got Google accounts I can’t even log into cuz I never saved my passwords when I was younger
Didn’t know you could give birth to millennials these days!
That’s what drives me crazy. There’s usually more than one way to do/enjoy things and there’s people who actually can’t comprehend they don’t actually know the optimal way for everything-ever.
I can’t imagine applying to work for HR personally. I’ve never liked an HR person. I’m not even someone that gets called up by HR I just see how they work and hate it.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Reminder [USA]: The fight against age verification is still on!
14·12 days agoAt the very least you can have your conscience eased that you didn’t simply let the country go to shit and fought back in some capacity.
The down vote you got kills me

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Should MAGA have separate bathrooms so they can't be around women and children?
3·13 days agoAmericans have been conditioned since a young age that they can’t do anything about what the government does. The population has been subdued while teaching them of freedoms and liberties while never questioning whether those things apply to them. The tools are there but they’re all brainwashed.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Mullvad Browser and Tor Browser have unique-per-computer persistent IDs on fingerprint.com
1·13 days agoThis has been my concern switching over to other OS’. I’m hoping as these alternative choices become more popular this won’t be the case as much but I do still have a Windows laptop I rarely use. Only use it for special use cases.

1·13 days agoSame here. Just lurking has been useful to me here. Nice to see someone in a similar spot (not an expert but passionate about the subject)
I’ve always said banning guns doesn’t make violent people incapable violence. Trying it during a time where we can 3D print guns isn’t really realistic. Its a cultural issue.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Linux Mint: When suspending computer while audio is playing, it loops 1 second.
5·20 days agoIt’s probably just your computer stuttering while trying to change states. Perhaps pause your audio before you suspend it. I don’t think it’s necessarily an indication something is wrong.
I suppose if you do find a fix for it then I’m curious but it’s nothing that I personally would be worried about.
Nah not 100% but we will definitely push up
I just want to see less bots and find real community and conversations. I also love the concept of decentralized platforms. I feel like the Internet mostly isn’t even real. I miss what it was like 15+ years ago.

I like to think they’re so incompetent they sent the weapons to a random group in Iraq not knowing the difference.
