IDK why this comment is downvoted, it’s true. And secular orgs like Food Not Bombs get routinely shut down by law enforcement.

Why not? Did they try to break your balls again?
If you like Pink Floyd chances are you actually like Parsons.

20·14 days agoThat’s a great one! Mine was “fuck a duck! Fuck ten ducks, actually.” My friends never let me live that one down.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is the "Gen z stare" a real thing?
1·14 days agoGenuinely what is the proper response to ‘hey, how’s it going?’ Because that is not normal where I grew up but it’s normal where I live now and I always respond with something like “good, you?” Unless I know the person, which is obviously wrong because half the time I get no response lol HELP

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is the "Gen z stare" a real thing?
708·15 days agoThe various answers in this thread are just hilarious.
The stare is real; it’s when they work in a service position but don’t communicate. You walk up to the counter and instead of greeting you or asking how they can help you or saying anything at all they just stare at you. That’s the Gen z stare. It’s that simple and I’ve encountered it everywhere that employs younger people. It doesn’t bother me, you don’t have to do shit for a shit wage, but it does make interactions unnecessarily awkward.
The comment saying that Gen z just doesn’t tolerate stupid is hilarious. What percentage of your generation voted for Trump again?
Yeah, finding out they buy their pets from breeders would be a huge turnoff. Plenty of shelter cats that are just as ugly and need a home.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Me watching someone on Lemmy getting cooked for having the same opinion as me:
9·15 days agoElections are compromised, and the fact that they are working tirelessly to both compromise them further and disenfranchise voters shows they know they are so totally and completely hated that they still need to astroturf social media to bully their ideology into the mainstream, on top of intimidating those with followings that do speak out.

Looking up is about one of the only things they can do 😢

That’s vitamin A and specifically Polar Bear livers contain levels that are toxic to humans.

World News@lemmy.ml•The UN has voted 123-3 in favour to condemn the enslavement of Africans and the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Something, something, same map.
592·18 days agoAre we condemning modern slave trades or just ones no one living can be held accountable for?
Standing = bad
Water = bad
Hot water = also bad for different reasons
Soap: stingsYeah idgi either. I understand why women make the assumption, because at least they have the showerhead, but I’m surprised to see male support for the shower wank. Different strokes, I guess.
I mean… No? Maybe? Certainly not aliens as in biologically evolved creatures from another planet are involved, what is so hard to understand about that? Alien as in something completely foreign and unrecognizable to the human brain, sure.

politics @lemmy.world•The ugly history behind Trump’s birthright citizenship case in the Supreme Court | The peculiar legal argument behind Trump’s attack on citizenship was invented by 19th-century anti-Chinese racists.
4·19 days agoIt would be great if the anchor baby in chief invalidated his own citizenship and was no longer qualified constitutionally to be president. I mean it wouldn’t change anything but it would be something to add to his list of disqualifiers.

For me personally, atheism is saying ‘there is nothing more to the universe or reality, what you see is what you get’ which is extremely pretentious. Agnosticism is admitting to the possibility that there’s something going on here, but we don’t know and would likely be incapable of understanding what it is.

Was going to ask if she recycles her own waste. Now I don’t know what to do. I’m just going to sit here and think about how unacceptable this day has been.
