No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What’s the difference between communism and socialism?Nederlands
2·18 days agoI lived in a Northern European country through the 90s: definitely yes. Not perfect, but it was quite good really.
I’m afraid the answer is “Claude Code” at the moment.
But really it depends on what you mean exactly with “website”.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Some folks say lawns are bad. So what is the better option?Nederlands
1·1 month agoIt sounds weird to plant native plants. I always just ignore a piece of garden for a while and native plants spontaneously spawn.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Question to the people of lemmy that got a pp. After peeing do you wipe your pp with toilett paper or do you do the shake and dance?Nederlands
4·2 months agoI sit, squeeze and preferably wash with water afterwards. At the office I sometimes sneak into the disabled toilet because it does have a sink behind the locked door.
Toilet paper is the second option, but it leaves traces sometimes.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Who works at a (tech) company that's not delirious about AI?Nederlands
3·2 months agoI work as a developer for a smaller (~50 people) tech company and most devs use AI on a daily basis, but everyone is free to choose what, how and how much (until our tokens run out 😬, but we do have a decent budget).
We find we have to learn how to use this new, powerful (and sometimes also very annoying) tool properly. PR have been sent for review without properly being checked by the “author”, bosses have raves about AI but also reality checked when they saw the bills they have to pay and we will probably make more mistakes as well as productivity boosts in the future. We will see where this all ends up.
For now I just enjoy having this companion when I need it to guide me through new fields I would have not dared to tread before, which is fun. Worst case I’ll be building houses instead of web applications in a few years. Working outside instead of in a stuffy office. Could be worse.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Was the world always a fucked up place?Nederlands
1·2 months agoAlmost everything now is better than ever before. The problem is that the news is telling you all is bad. Stop watching it. This includes your social media feeds. Just don’t read it. Do something else with your time. Go outside.
I guess parking tickets are not expensive enough in this village?
I see your point. I am just afraid of the other person agreeing to not wearing a condom because they might feel forced by the extra question and regretting the decision later.
But ideally they would indeed discuss with mutual respect and come to a good conclusion they both agree with ❤️

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are people like my grandpa so against seeing the whole world and learning a different language?Nederlands
1·2 months agoHard to say, he probably doesn’t even know why he dislikes it himself.
But do travel the world, it will be a great experience and will teach tou valuable lessons. Get a job to pay for a flight, or just hitchhike and enjoy.
Don’t do drugs, but do travel the world.
No, if she asks him to wear a condom, he better wear a condom without any questions. Sorry
I’d kicked him out of my bed and out of my life straight away. Safe sex or no sex. And if this is his reaction he can die lonely and miserably in my opinion.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why does it seem like teenagers killing people is way more commonplace in the UK now?Nederlands
12·2 months agoNewspapers/websites just want to make money and people tend to read articles that frighten them and/or make them angry. Be careful with what you read/watch and verify with actual statistics.
I put myself on a news-diet a few months back and it massively improved my life. Instead of worrying about the world burning and feeling unable to do anything about it, I have much more energy to actually do things I like and/or find important and am also much more able to invest in deep relationships with friends. I cannot recommend it enough.
Important news will get to you anyway, there is no need to check news outlets every 5 minutes.

3·3 months agoHehe
Also, Linux is really quite nice nowadays 😉

I miss the corona virus lockdown days personally to be honest, so no, not really. It might even help bring house prices down when enough people catch it.
