Yep, I think I counted at one point and half of the photos on my phone are pets

Magic. In the baseball video he specifies that magic is what causes stuff to happen, after the magic, it’s all normal physics
The other commenter is right, but another problem is that our homes and cities are designed to trap a lot of heat in. So while it might say 25C on the weather apps, it can get up to 40C inside. Come to the UK during the summer and you will understand.
Typing your own code manually? Unheard of!
I know just enough German to be more confused by this than if I knew no German at all

Hopefully anti-cheat will be next11·26 days agoI get this and when I used windows I’ve had issues with kernel level anti-viruses, but why anti-viruses before anti-cheats? Surely an AV’s kernel access is more important then an AC’s access?
arudesalad@sh.itjust.worksto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•[Discussion] Steam Summer Sale has started, what are you buying to play on your Deck?3·28 days agoI was expecting the same, licenced games rarely do well, since licencors are often worse than publishers because they have even less experience in games than the usual investors (although licenced dune games are generally quite good), and with dune being an mmo, a genre done to dead and usually designed to keep you playing instead of to have fun, I thought it would be terrible. I was very happy when people said the game is good, I’ve always wanted a survival game based on dune!

It’s not on sale but I’m also interested in dune awakening
My living space is clean but looks untidy (male). I don’t keep things on shelves and cupboards (apart from clothes and books I’m not reading at the moment), everything (mostly tech and studying stuff) goes on the floor. It’s not unorganised, I know where everything is and I don’t just throw stuff on the floor, if something is in a place on the floor I put it there for a reason and NO ONE SHOULD MOVE IT. Expensive stuff that can break if it is stepped on and stuff I don’t want to step on gets placed near the edges of rooms and under tables. Once every week it all gets thrown on my bed (still organised) so I can clean but after that it all goes back on the floor.
arudesalad@sh.itjust.worksOPto linux4noobs@programming.dev•Is there anything I would still need a windows dual boot for?3·1 month agoIt’s impressive that you mentioned one of my concerns not reading the body or my comment! Happy to hear that star citizen works well with enough work!
arudesalad@sh.itjust.worksOPto linux4noobs@programming.dev•Is there anything I would still need a windows dual boot for?1·1 month agoI play both, unfortunately, even if BYOND works well on linux, I’m probably not going to be able to play it (old article but the attack hasn’t ended yet)
arudesalad@sh.itjust.worksOPto linux4noobs@programming.dev•Is there anything I would still need a windows dual boot for?1·1 month agoI think what you saw was the usb getting flashed (like how you make an installable drive), rebooting to bios and flashing the bios from the usb. That’s how I did it anyway.
arudesalad@sh.itjust.worksOPto linux4noobs@programming.dev•Is there anything I would still need a windows dual boot for?2·1 month agoHelping friends and family troubleshoot is something I would still have to do. I always assumed that I would be able to fix any mistakes quickly enough with a live boot usb but having a working windows install to fall back on is a good idea.
Also, you can flash BIOS via an OS? I thought it could only be done from within the BIOS?
arudesalad@sh.itjust.worksOPto linux4noobs@programming.dev•Is there anything I would still need a windows dual boot for?1·1 month agoI made a comment with everything I am not 100% sure will work. Summarised here: Is there somewhere like protondb I can check to see how well windows only software works through wine, and how well does BYOND and Star Citizen work in linux (I know they do work, but have no idea how well).
arudesalad@sh.itjust.worksOPto linux4noobs@programming.dev•Is there anything I would still need a windows dual boot for?1·1 month agoUpdate: I’ve looked through (almost) everything on my PC and my main concerns are:
- There are some games I play that work well on linux (marked playable on deck) but have external utilities that I refuse to play it without, is there somewhere like protonDB I can check to see how well it runs through wine (and how to set it up with wine? I’m not very experienced with it)
- For those who play SS13, how well the new BYOND update works with linux, I’ve seen it working on steam deck but I don’t know how buggy it is.
- How well star citizen works?

The uk version would be 100 blank panels above the actual joke

Not PTB or YDI. If I was a mod and saw that comment I would be torn between you being discriminatory and being unfamiliar with parts of English (it can be strange sometimes). I would have probably messaged you to clarify what you meant but the mod was being completely rational.
