awake01@lemmy.worldtoCybersecurity@fedia.io•This Musk guy is so, but so idiotic that he doesn't even know that most of the source of US soft power throughout the world was the funding by the CIA and other federal agencies of cultural activities3·5 months agoNo, they know exactly what they are doing. The goal is to 1. Rig the system to ensure their long term control. 2. Damage or destroy the United States relationships with it’s allies. 3. Delegitimize the dollar as a viable reserve currency.
There are many many other incremental objectives, but these are the north stars of this operation. None of this has anything to do with improving the United States or the lives of it’s citizens.

I mean, yeah… I don’t blame them. America has spoken and they aren’t interested in education, science, ethics, honesty, integrity, and certainly not any intellectualism. That is all sucker nerd shit. Good luck getting ahead with any of that sucker. I like people who just take what they want. - America

This is all the same long term cycle. People don’t value democracy they value tiktok, real housewives, cheap gasoline and cheap eggs. There is no reason for them to recognize what they are losing before it’s too late. It is what it is

awake01@lemmy.worldtoUnited States | News & Politics@midwest.social•NYTimes Doing What They Do0·1 year agoBecause people are absolutely idiots. Not a race thing… Most people of all colors and creeds seem incapable of going more than surface deep on anything. I don’t know when we dropped our critical thinking skills, but I know it will be the end of us. I think this is what Generations theory sort of predicts. We stop caring about facts, logic, etc. We just drive ourselves into hardship until things are so bad that we realize these things have value . That’s my Strauss-Howe pitch of th day. Welcome to the worst part of the seculum.

I wonder how this will actually play out. I’m guessing it will depend heavily on which teams/fan bases are matches up in those games.

Many pilots do this as a means of reducing the costs associated with operating out of areas with high hangar and service costs. This is Northwest of Chicago near Rockford. The about page explains a lot of the obvious questions.

It’s going to take strike level activity and solidarity for office employees before they are going to see the real risks and impacts. I just don’t see people being that committed to pushing back. I would love to be wrong.
Sort of like the obsession with Chicago vs. places in “red states” with substantially higher murder rates like St. Louis or Memphis.
