Linux@lemmy.ml•Developer patches Wine to make Photoshop 2021 & 2025 run on Linux — Adobe Creative Cloud installers finally work thanks to HTML, JavaScript and XML fixes
11·5 hours agoLegit had somebody angry with me at work because their copilot button wasn’t showing in Outlook… Like what? If you can’t even write your own emails why are you even employed? “What would you say… You do here?”

Canada@lemmy.ca•'Trump is really worried': White House officials reveal president’s next foreign target
5·5 hours agoSeems like it’s all going to Putin’s plan. I just hope I live to see the part when Putin turns on them all and stabs them in the back.

2·5 hours agoSee the same nonsense in the PC world with people talking about their “anticheat” when in what they really mean is “rootkit”

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I’m small down there and get my fiancé off with a big dildo. Do you see any issue with this?
22·1 month agoNo way - you straight up say she enjoys having sex with you, and you’re making sure she’s taken care of. Who cares how it’s done - you enjoy it, she enjoys it, and you both get to finish. I see nothing but wins here, king.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Why Canada should avoid Australia’s teen social media ban: A call for better solutions -- [Opinion]
1·1 month agoRight, and how does one define it sensibly? Especially when you’re considering a law that affects a group of people as diverse as a country’s population, and when it is regarding something that is dynamic in nature.
Why not make ALL salaries public regardless of if they’re private or public sector? Imagine the fun you could have with that kind of data

Canada@lemmy.ca•Why Canada should avoid Australia’s teen social media ban: A call for better solutions -- [Opinion]
3·1 month agoThe bigger problem is how you define “social media”.
Do we can all message forums and Discord? Wikipedia has the “Talk” section, doesn’t that make it social media?
What about the drives of worthy educational content on YouTube?
What about the flood of misinformation sites that are likely to pop up as they’re going to be much harder to filter out?
Meanwhile we still have people screaming about the Sunshine list in Ontario, because it stayed at $100,000 while inflation continued to rise. If it stayed true to purpose, it would be closer to $200,000 now.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Plex is now enforcing remote play restrictions on TVsEnglish
31·2 months agoIt is heping Plex by adding to their number of users and further justifying their enshitifcaiton.
The correct move is to uninstall it and use an alternative.
Accepting enshitifcaiton and the downward trend of the status quo is why we have enshitifcaiton and the downward trend of the status quo.
Companies know users will just accept shit rather than be mildly inconvenienced or uncomfortable for a bit while they learn something new, even if it’s a million times better.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Plex is now enforcing remote play restrictions on TVsEnglish
31·2 months agoThe entire side service they’re they’ve been pushing where they want to inject their own streaming crap into the media server. The whole point of Plex used to be for you to host your own media collection, and was relatively hands-off. But sure, continue to support them by using the software and inflating their numbers. Don’t cry to me when better options crumble and all you’re left with is a completely enshitifed app, what do I know? Lmao

Right? Lockdown sucked a bit because it was harder to play physical boardgames, but my other hobbies were unaffected and I had the bonus if less traffic and fewer people in grocery stores, not to mention the occasional lineup where I’d have time to mentally transition.
