If you want to be mainstream a) you can’t have spammers, scammers, and all the other scum of the earth and b) finding your contacts in the app HAVE TO be plug and play. Literally no normie will bother adding with usernames or whatever.

Just use signal is not a valid statement in a world where vast majority of people aren’t using (and won’t use) it. I have been trying to get people to install it and have a total of 6 over several years. They only use it to communicate with me.
People miss the fact that we can tell when one of them make a questionable decision which is what matters the most.
