  • Not what you asked for, but if you’re interested at all in digital audio books, I cannot recommend highly enough Chirp Books. They use a flash sale kind of model, and sometimes the author you’re interested in has their books at 90% off for like 30 days, and it cycles on rotation. You do need their proprietary player app to listen, but you can download the audiobooks to your device for offline listening.

For actual ebooks, you could look into your local library, and what schemes are available for ‘digital lending’. Some platforms exist that let you loan movies, games, stream music and download ebooks using your local library card.

  • Mvp comment there. I checked mine and I am in the US, on a phone I originally bought on credit. I do not have that app installed. Go figure. 🤷‍♂️

Definitely worth checking out your app list to make sure. I wonder if it accidentally came downstream from AOSP into the alt ROMs, and that’s why it’s not in my stock, proprietary, US market, flagship Google pixel device.

The least annoying reader on Android I’ve found is moon reader pro. It feels a lot worse to me than maple reader on iOS though.

Try Librera from F-Droid. I only wanted a pdf reader, and got that and an epub reader/ebook manager too. Apparently it’s also good for music manuscript too but I haven’t used it for that.

  • Yes - I’m considering this about myself recently, that I have been undiagnosed ASD and ADHD. Try the test on the ADHD Centre’s website, and cross-reference with the Aspie test perhaps. Then if you get positive results, take these to your local (or even the ADHD centre or another nearby private clinician, since the waiting times could be quite long 3-10 years in the UK).

I can definitely relate to those issues and it matches with my yet-unconfirmed, highly suspected case of AuDHD. It’s quite common to have both.
