I personally wouldn’t purchase modified devices or “TV boxes”. Its simple enough to set it up yourself; buy a firestick, install Tivimate (an IPTV client), and optionally a VPN client. You’ll need to find an IPTV provider which are usually subscriptions.

I use gluetun to route traffic from some of my containers that need a VPN. qBittorrent, Jackett etc. Some containers dont have the option to configure a proxy so you’d have to setup a VPN client within a container which isn’t ideal. With gluetun its easy to attach a container to it and it just works

A reverse proxy isn’t a substitute for a VPN for access outside your network. And it isn’t any less secure; you only need to open 1 port however all of your services will be accessible via that single port which is arguably less secure.

I think it’s because “Gamer” make it part of your identity, instead of a hobby or something you do. It’s like when people call me a cyclist, it makes it seem like it’s the only thing I am when in reality I just use a bike to get around.
