YES! Maybe I should read it again for nostalgia’s sake. I can’t imagine it’s very long since little me got through it. I think it was my first modern sci-fi book which was a very different vibe from things like John Carter of Mars
Man I forgot about Colfer. He wrote some one-off sci-fi book I read as a sheltered kid and it blew my mind. Cant remember what it was called but it had something to do with energy-based creatures that you could only see if you had nearly died. It was kind of a cyberpunk-lite novel for kids
I just finished “The Shadow of the Torturer” by Gene Wolfe, first book in the “The Book of the New Sun” series. Very interesting book, excited for the rest of the series. Not the easiest read though
Just re-read Stormlight 1-4 plus the ancillary novellas for the umpteenth time and it’s always 10/10
It’s like an oasis in the desert right now. Everyone can look at this crazy spectacle and ignore all the polarized and heart-wrenching crazy bs that the rest of the news is full of.
I was lucky enough to grow up through the gameboy–>DS era so I’ve always been covered
We have protectrons in malls now?!
Do you know what “nemesis” means?
Pretty sure this is just a camera effect, the eye flickers on and off at a rate that does not synchronize with the camera’s framerate
Every pet I have owned has been a rescue and they each cost me around $60-$200, including various amounts of vet things like vaccinations
Where exactly is Bill’s Hentai Cavern? Asking for a friend

The way he pops up to perfect standing height almost makes that part of the vid feel like a reverse video (which it isnt)
Lmao at work we call the leftover panko breading balls from making cheese curds “cheese turds”
tf does he have against Haiti anyway?
As far as finding out bad things about celebrities in the news goes, this barely even rates. Infidelity is nothing compared to the bar that has been set.

Others have recommend really good ones like Tchaikovsky’s Children of Time. In that same vein I can recommend A Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Vinge and the followup books. Just like Tchaikovsky’s works they are part human POV and part alien POV where the aliens are very animal-like. It’s not really the same as what you may be looking for though, as the species are all very intelligent, just different and with characteristics that are very reminiscent of earth animals such as dogs and spiders.
