I use ONN Android boxes. Fairly inexpensive, but I think it’s difficult to set up without a Google account (you can create a dummy account on the setup).

Side-loading is trivial. Some favorite apps: TizenTube to replace YouTube (or any of a dozen or so frontends), Projectivy launcher to replace the awful default. Add an always on VPN.

Open-source is a stretch. Open weights are more like blobs. They run and can be used openly, but it’s not as though you can build it yourself. No way to know how it was trained or if the training was manipulated by various interests.

I’ve been very happy with my JBL 130. Nothing fancy, but good sound, excellent noise canceling for the price. For me few earbuds are comfortable but these fit well for me.
