Just add a + to the letters you remember if you don’t want to use a term like gay or queer. Also, i have never met someone upset because their letter was omitted.

On the one hand yes, that’s why at some point people started using the + to make up for every missing letter. An easy way out would to be to say non-hetero-non-cis-folk but then you still miss some groups. You could just say gay people, or queer people, most people will still feel represented. But I like the long string of letters which is a true abomination because of all those letters, exactly because each letter represents someone (a bunch of them even) and it allows for conversation going. The number 2 for example got a lot of people who read this post informed about two-spirited people who maybe never heard those poeple exist before. That matters a lot. If you see for example now republican politicians talking about biological sex even though they never seem to have heard about intersex people it shows how much of the hate comes from not knowing and not understanding. If you’ve read all this, I hope you’ve not read it as an attack because it is not. You going on google is exactly the point. But if you don’t like doing that, please know (most) gays dont believe you have to, people know they are a minority and often don’t mind just telling you about their sexuality or gender when you ask.
Don’t know about Canada specifically but as far as i know asylum laws are about having a valid reason, so being from a specific place is less often a valid reason than being from a minority (can also be religious or ethnical) or having certain political views. They would likely sooner accept for example Amish , indigenous or democratic people only before just accepting anyone from the US. I think you’re wrong in believing that is unlikely to happen if you see how anyone with a Hispanic demeanor is being treated right now.
Also sometimes in front of the acronym like this: 2SLGBTQI+
The law was long opposed by business groups, who […] faced hefty fines if caught ‘greenwashing’
So often have I heard national lobbyist and politicians say ‘we are not against fines, but we need to make sure it’s fixed on a European level so there is fair competition in our single level’. Getting so tired of all the bullshit these businesses tell us.
I believe they actually did see improvements, they just weren’t sustained
Tell me, what have you done so far?
Keep sharing them, cause I like the trapdoor solution a lot more than a complex road sign ;)
It sounds sketchy, but the text show she herself asks about it and for me that answer doesn’t come across as manipulative or him trying to profit off of her. It would be more worrying if he’d answer something like ‘o that car? You could let me use it’ or ‘I can sell that for you’. I think it’s wrong to assume all old people are vulnerable confused and sick, and also wrong to assume a sex workers has less moral values because of the way they choose to make a living. I think the way they communicate show that a) she has a sound mind and b) he treats her honestly like a friend and not as a target or victim.
Have you also read she lives in Canada while the claimants live in Australia and waited four years to voice their concerns? That says a lot too I believe.
There was this study (not car related) on how well fines work, turns out if they are an absolute value (like in most cases) that is relatively low to ones wealth, a lot of people stop caring. Also, people are much more likely to break the law if they believe there is a high chance of getting away with it. So just having a sign might fix nothing, if the people to do not fear the penalty enough
Not really sure how to say this in english, but this case i’d say the problem in not only at the front-side (bad design) but also on the back-side (enforcing the rules). Rules that aren’t enforced are merely suggestions.
What’s so fucked about them?
Not sure what you mean, shows their relationship was not only about sex/intimacy and actually support my point?
I bet if the male escort wasn’t a male escort but a caring neighbour the family would still come for money, doesn’t read like the nature of their relationship is a problem. They should be grateful for the escort that their aunt had company, considering how awful loneliness is.
I agree both are a public safety issue, but there aren’t many similarities beyond that. For one, most people guilty killing or seriously injuring someone with a gun intends to so cause that result while people who are guilty of killing or seriously injuring someone with a car are unaware of the danger they pose or aren’t able to estimate how to react in a certain situation. Yes both need to be taken very serious, yes both are a big problem but their solution is very different. Although one more similarity which blows my mind is how unwilling American politicians are to keep more people alive.
A jury in Denver, Colorado, ordered Mr Lindell to pay $2.3m (£1.7m) to Eric Coomer, a former security and product strategy director at Dominion Voting Systems.
Lindell falsely accused Mr Coomer of helping to rig the 2020 vote, which was won by Joe Biden. During the two-week trial, Lindell stuck by baseless claims that the election was stolen from Donald Trump.
This man is clearly dedicated to his business
I was trying to say that. Seeing others puts a ‘narrative’ that is different from theirs in your own head, because you see with your own eyes. Everybody still needs to adress all incoming information, it’s not always apparent it is a false story.
Totally true, which is why i myself most of the time use the words gay and queer (and totally enjoy using those words knowing what they were originally used for). But that doesn’t make the letter soup a bad thing. The ‘hardness’ of it is functional. There might be someone out there who demands all letters are used and in the right order, but don’t mistake me for someone who thinks it is fair to demand representation, respect and understanding isn’t something you claim so i believe you are totally free to go for the easier thing. 0 judgement from my side.
