So it’s a matter of who will profit off that. And also, the EU is doing a lot for the environment already. Maybe it’s time for other countries like India to stop throwing trash directly into rivers now? We live on the same planet. Even if EU achieves the zero-emission state, it only accounts for 5% of the population in the world, so it won’t change that much on a global scale if other countries continue refusing to cooperate

kebab@endlesstalk.orgto World News@lemmy.world•Musk ordered shutdown of Starlink satellite service as Ukraine retook territory from RussiaEnglish6·4 days agoThe big instances are blocked (like yours, i.e. lemmy.world) while the small ones that the CCP didn’t catch up with yet (like mine) are working fine. It’s a censorship went wrong moment

They should’ve been prevented from acquiring nukes at the first place, just like other crazy countries, most notably Pakistan and India. Now it’s too late, I am afraid

War is “a state of armed conflict between different countries or different groups within a country”. It’s an armed conflict between Israel and Palestine indeed. You can give it other bigger names too but it certainly fulfills the definition of a war as well

kebab@endlesstalk.orgto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•how many people came to this platform due to leaving / being banned from Reddit?English3·9 days agoCame here after my niche small Reddit client got officially shut down. When the API changes were announced, I knew that I’d rather switch than use their official Reddit client. I didn’t like that they charge AI companies for accessing my data and I don’t get any share of their profit neither. Here on Lemmy everyone can train their AI models on our data but at least there’s no random dude (spez) who profits off that.
The decentralization meaning that I can choose some random small instance and not be bound to the admins of any big one was another big point for Lemmy

But the real base of supporters is in the churches; they do repeat what he said once a month or so and pray together for it to turn into reality
