  • If you pretend the centrist way leads to less genocide then you’re not being honest about the history of what was done under Biden, and I get that. You have to get through a massive level of cognitive dissonance to acknowledge that Biden was a genocider and Harris was about to be one. I dont like it either. But neither repubs or centrist dems will refuse an AIPAC paycheck will they. The apr 9 DNC vote proved that conclusively.

So both parties have to change or fail-- neither can be supported. THAT is the way to end genocide sponsorship in the US --because trump is actively burning the government to the ground and its on borrowed time. The dems are closest to being able to turn around, but the only way they do that is if they face the guaranteed threat of losing the next election. We’re not playing chicken here with any intention of flinching at the last minute. They stop their genocidal ways or they dont get support and this place continues being taken apart by the magats. Its the only way forward. We’re pretty far past letting this play out over time, dont you think?

If you dont like this, whats your idea to stop the genocide? write letters to dem centrist interns, I bet?

  • I admire your sense of optimism. Its heartening and I respect it and think maybe you are living life the best way, although it seems doomed in this one case.

The Apr 9 symbolic vote in the DNC to stop PAC influence was defeated, as was the separate symbolic vote to stop AIPAC influence in the party. So its still a party that doesnt acknowledge that the opinions of independents are worth hearing. They will demand independents come to them, and I think with the group of insincere clowns they will run as candidates, it wont work and they will lose the midterms, again.

Which only really leaves accelerationism, right? I wouldnt be disappointed to be wrong, but we have to be prepared for either outcome. We need to win your way or we need to dismantle it so the mass killing and gross inhumanity (even within our own borders) stops. Seems to me that worst case is laying back and letting the blood of uncountable innocents accumulate on our hands.

So doing what the centrists demand is not an option.

  • yeah agreed. I keep circling around the fact that our government is completely captured across every branch and party, and the interests that have it captured care nothing about Americans, or are hostile and just using us. The 2 political parties dictate the outcome for primaries, so they will never let an honest actor win a national primary unless a secret-decent person manages to sneak through their net, which seems unlikely given the grooming process politicians need to go through before they get any real power. Mamdani won because mayoral races arent as hard to enter and get funded as federal races are. But he did it despite the dems massive efforts to backstab his campaign into oblivion. Can that scale nationally? Seems hard to beleive. Bernie’s candidacy and the outcome of his suing the DNC showed us that they can hand pick whoever they want at any time and the primary system is not legally binding, and need not be fair or impartial. Its not really an election.. Only the general election is.

So whats inevitable now : Social programs and free speech/protests will inevitably be removed. I cant see a midterm win by dems leading to a turnaround in our national descent into fascism. Its really just a matter of time until some sort of revolution happens, and the centrists are just playing for time in an utterly doomed system. We’re in a dead zombie democracy that was a watered down version of democracy even when it was alive.
