.world hasn’t defederated from either of these two instances. They’ve blocked .world users from accessing those 3 communities from .world. You, as a .world user can still access any community across those 2 instances, aside from the 3 mentioned. Any users on those instances can still access .world communities.

A few months ago. They said that hosting companies and other providers were refusing to work with them if they continued with it as a feature.

It’s just too easy to abuse by bad people using it to host very questionable content. Lots of people then moved to ivpn and then they removed it too, for the same reasons.

A few years ago I had labyrinthitis and when I got over it I found I couldn’t play games or even watch other people playing games. Something in the way the things move on screen gives me really bad nausea and vertigo, like motion sickness I guess.

TV and cinema is no problem, it’s just games.

Both to the instance I’m on, because hosting and bandwidth costs money and to the Lemmy software devs because I’d like them to be able to concentrate on developing Lemmy.

Don’t know about the other 2 but .world has been enduring an on/off ddos attack for over a week, then yesterday had a non ddos related db issue.

It’s my absolute favourite book series ever. I kept putting it off and putting it off as I thought - Napoleonic Wars, sailing ships, nah - but they blew me away from book 1.

There are solid rumours that a script is being written to launch the series as a movie universe. To be honest though, there’s so much detail in each book I think each book would work better as a TV season.
